Fresh out of the oven, delivered today
Fully restored RX100

The Yamaha 'RX' Thread (with pics)-01.jpg

List of modifications:
- 2.75 x 18 & 3.00 x 18 tires
- Front fork and disc brake assembly from Classic Pulsar
- Front mudguard from Max100R
- Center lock from RXZ
- HL reflector from Autopal (H4)
- Crank case sticker (YEIS) from RX135 (Couldn't find the plain sticker)
- Tools box from RX135

Simple and yet so elegant. I wonder When my RX100 is going to look like that. What tyres are these? MRF Zappers?

This is absolute my version of the RX100/135, Simple black paint job and classic golden lines on the tank with that pulsar disc and thats it, no other changes to anything. Though black is the most common color on RX but I think it makes those classic lines stand out.

The bike looks fresh indeed Boss.

How much does it cost for this upgrade? I just upgraded both the tires and will it fit the same setup?

I also browsed the Splendor disc and alloy setup for RX. Is it a feasible mod?

Here in Delhi/UP, pulsar disc setup with forks, rim, hub and master cylinder cost any where between 3.5 to 6k depending up the condition. Pulsar spoke rim is also 18 inch so same tyre will fit. No need to change the rear tyre.

IIRC splendor never came with discs and it has 17 inch alloys so it wont we a direct swap. If you want alloys with disc brakes, best option would be Yamaha gladiator.

Unfortunately we had to spend a lot this time
Around 5k for the used front end (including a brand new steel mud guard from Max100R)
1k for the new rim, spokes and bearing
1k for one fork tube (used one had excess wear near oil seal area) oil, oils seal
1k for speedo worm gear, cable, fork boots, master cylinder repair kit, wheel truing

is that a direct fit on the Rx or will it require some modification. I am asking because i wish to install alloys and front disc on my RX100 and so far I have been unlucky in finding a donor gladiator.

I know a couple of splendors running with Pulsar disc brake set-up. So I assume it should be a direct fit.
TBH finding a donor gladiator is far easy than a splendor with disc

I am facing a peculiar issue of oil leak post a ride. The oil drips underneath the center stand. It drips slowly, abelite to a few drops, and stops. It does not leak further until parked after the next ride.

Here are some pics.

Is this a packing issue?

Also, weird that the autopump 2T oil gets over soon. 1L for around 250 to 300 kms. How long do the levels last generally? Suspect, there might be a pump leak too.

Somehow I fell in low with this shade

Hello All,

I have a RX100 -1990 model, and looking for a suggestion for front and rear tube-type tyres for my bike.

Front:
2.75X18

Rear:
3.00X18

Preferred brand: Michelin
Considering the road conditions, I prefer tyres for a good road grip in both wet and dry conditions. I don't have disc-brakes.

Budget:
Less than Rs.3000/- per tyre.

Kindly share me your experience and expert suggestion.

Thank you.
