nice bikes there, could you tell us what CDI you are running on the bikes...

Hi :)

The CDI unit in both bikes is the stock one, no changes. Please keep in mind that these are Thai-spec RXZ's, similar or identical to the Japanese ones, i.e. 6 gears and about 20 horsepower stock. The black (wild) one even has an original Japanese Y2 block which is bored up and ported.

Kind regards.....

Thanh

Gooba :D post some pics of your bike.

Hello All,

I replaced the rear tire of my RX135 with Michelin M45. I liked the grip, riding comfort of the new tire, but I feel I'm compromising on the pick-up or the 'fun-factor'. I really feel that the pick-up has reduced. Anyone else having the same problem on their RX running on Michelin? Both the old and new tire size is 3.00X18 and old tire was Ceat Secura M86.

Thanks,
Jose.

I don't think it has reduced acceleration.

Dear straight6,

I seriously feel there is drop in pick-up. Is the increased road grip inversely proportional to reduced pick-up? Higher the grip, lower the pick-up? stupid:

Thanks,
Jose.

Has it lowered the top speed of the bike too? Check that.

Yes, more grip usually means more friction but it should be negligible since you're using the stock size.

If you had gone more a wider rear tyre then it would have surely reduced performance.

My bike touches 115 km/h.

Hi! Guys this is my first post on this thread! The details of my baby are all here!

Hi Rxians

Here is my story..
RX 135 - 4S - 1998
Date of purchase: 10-9-98
Done: 90k kms
Engine Stock condition (Std bore)
Cosmetic work: New tank (RX135 later model with matching side shields)

Just realised that 11 years is long time since it had been with me. I had take to Pune for my post graduation. For work to Hyderabad & Bangalore.
Now, sitting pretty in Chennai home town.

Planning to do:
1. switch to ART piston soon.
2. Paint the block and case either black or silver (need suggestions)

I got a 1989 RX 100 2 days ago in my home town. Bike requires some works like new chain sproket and complete wiring and some other small small tings.

I will add some pictures later

@kannan : Yes, I got it from someone I know. He was leaving India and do not want to keep the bike in that condition as it will be idle for long time.

I paid 10K for the bike and odo reads 34K.

At 10K, it's a steal especially if it is has the original Japanese engine ! And if the odo reads 34K and has been functioning properly, I guess it must have run 1.34L kms, isnt it ?

My RX is a 1987 model and it has done around 1.55L kms to date, bought it new and have done a lot of long distance rides on it, is being used very sparingly now though since I have not yet got the FC done.

I have to confirm if it has the original engine. I also guess that it is 1.34L kms as i know that he used this bike always.

Sorry for my ignorance. What is FC?
