Team-BHP - Motorcycle mechanic in Delhi?

Hi guys,

I recently bought a second Yamaha RX135 from Karol Bagh, New Delhi and plan to completely restore it to stock condition. Can anyone recommend a good and reliable mechanic in delhi, preferable south delhi to get it serviced. Browsed through the forum in similar threads but did not find any.

For how much did you get the bike for ?

If you want to bring it back to stock change your shocks first these shocks are of no use now.try getting gabriel or escorts.

Your rear tail lamp clamp seems to to be gone change it asap, your seat needs a re cushioning.

Most importantly your bike needs a repaint overall.

@invincible7 - To be honest I haven't really driven the bike much, just got the bike on monday. Will look into the tires after the servicing is done.

@skulls - I am not too comfortable working on the bike, you can say I am a complete amatuer in this regards, plus I don't have the necessary tools.

@prajeep - Bought it for 8k, have given the bike for a complete paint job, including removing the black color from the engine.The seat will be replaced with the stock seat. I have been following your RX135 thread very keenly, very inspirational.

Will keep updated how the makeover goes.

IMO You should have considered working on the engine first rather than cosmetics. Once the engine was overhauled you could have gone with the paintjob.

BTW which paintjob are you going for, and if you dont mind please share how much are you being charged for it.

As I said earlier, the bike is in the garage for complete service. Tank and side panel have been painted, the mechanics are going over the engine checking all components including piston chamber, piston head, clutch plates, brake shoe, ball bearings, wiring, replacing parts wherever necessary with genuine yamaha parts.

Now as you can see in the picture, the silencer has some dents and chrome has faded away in some areas. I wanted to get the dents fixed and the complete silencer chromed. The mechanic said that the dents will be difficult to repair and will remain uneven, and chrome plating would look odd on the uneven surface. He has advised that I can get a brand new kind off 'local" silencer for about 500-600 rupees which will be equivalent to the original, and shops sell them as genuine :eek:. Is it advisable to get the new one or the current one would be better ? I don't want the silencer to spoil the looks :D

You said inspirational thank you so much, i suggest you to go for the original one which will cost you somewhere near 1600/- this includes the bend pipe and other stuff also. just knock the right door to find the genuine spares.

ashthedivx is right here, there is no point spending huge amount on the silencer when you can get the same thing within half the price or even lesser. You can check Kashmere Gate, Jama Masjid or even Karol Bagh, if you want i might be able to help you on this. But it depends, if you have extra moolah in the pockets, buy an original one if you can source it.

Went to check the progress of the bike, seems like they are doing a good job. The mechanics are a father and son duo and they specialize only in Yamaha RX, they don't have many customers as the RX market is fading away, my bike is the only one they have right now, so they are giving all their time and effort on it, taking care of every part in detail, cleaning and greasing with care. And all the parts they have changed are genuine yamaha parts.

Infact they have a rusty old RX100, maybe from the 80's, but boy when I took a ride I can still feel the pulse of the bike, it was raring to go :D

Went to Jayna Motors, Karol Bagh. I guess they are the authorized yamaha dealer, they quoted about 1100 for a new silencer.
