Thanks man! I got the tank painted yesterday. It was done in one day. A decent job overall. He used the same decals. And charged 800 bucks for the paint job. Decent value for money.

I spoke to the guy and he quoted 3500 for re-painting my fiero. It does not seem like a reasonable rate.

Chassis repinting requires the full bike to be dismantled. no wonder it costs so much.

Nowadays bugger painters are charging way lot. I got a quote of used tank- 800, new sidesheilds - 220 each, paintjob 1.7K :| for jet black with 2 coats of clear coat. Ugh I bought brand new set of wine red tank + sidesheilds last year for 3.2K. think i'll hold on to them for a loooong time to come.

He said it is for painting the entire bike. I need to get the details. I think it include the chasis aswell. Will let you know the details and post the snaps if I go for it.

As the fuel tank has some dents, I am wondering whether it is better, quality and cost wise, to buy the fuel tank and side panels instead of repainting the bike.

^^ If you can source the original parts, go for it! 8 years is quite a long time and the tank will definately have rust in it. Plus the original paint will be miles ahead of the repaint jobs.

Bajaj Pulsar 150 Dtsi overhauling

Hello People,

I have a 5 year old Bajaj Pulsar 150 Dtsi covered 94K Kms which is due for an overhaul. I share an emotional quotient with it so do not want to sell it. Can you guys suggest a good trustworthy mechanic who can do this. I also want to do some paint work too. Any idea of how much will it cost?

Thanks,
Sunil

Painting Bullet in Bangalore

Hi guys

My Bullet badly needs a new paintjob...can anyone recommend a good place in bangalore? I know cars are 'professionally' painted in spray booths- any chance of finding such a place for bikes as well? Or would that be overkill for a bike? I'd like to get a metallic finish done with a clearcoat.

thanks
Boban

Hi folks, I need recommendations on reliable but not too expensive motorcycle painters in Bangalore. I own a 2005 Pulsar 150 UG2 which is in stock condition till now. I wish to paint the alloys and silencer in black color. Not painting the engine since I like its aluminium finish.

I would also like some simple stickering job such as racing stripes and fz like stickering on the alloys. And recommendations for a sticker job and the place is also appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Paint Job for Pulsar - Bangalore

Hi guys,

Planning to fully re-paint my Honda Activa which is currently black in color. I've heard of one painter near Ulsoor lake, don't remember much now, who does the job very well. Could any body point to his address? And also some estimate on how much it cost for the whole activa?

Thanks,
Ramki

For sticker job, head to Hi stickers in Koramangala. Most of the Dukes and other bikes have got it done from him, including myself. He has lot of templates so you can choose what you want. 200rs for both rims.

He can be found behind Bosch Office, opposite forum mall. The shop is below Chai point.
