Wow dude...where do u manage to reach 9k in top gear?

Were u able to do so before now? From what I know, ignition maps in the CDi drop drastically from 9k to kind off cut of the bike engine to avoid damage to it.

I maybe wrong, but just have a look.

I have only managed to taken my bike over 9k (bike does a 130k on speedo) 4-5 time in past five and a half years and that too only when the wind condition were favorable and my bike was in top condition. So unless you have a good tail wind, bike's running perfectly and you have really long and open road, you won't be able to cross 9k!

wow..... does the pulsar actually rev to 9k?? Most of the pulsears i've ridden choke by 8000 revs, that too when strained really hard!

I have a 2006 P150, I could rev it to around 10500 RPM in top gear. 110kmh+ on the speedo. What bothers me is I've heard that DTSi has a rev limiter. If yes, to what RPM is it limited??

@dustDevil the OP has a classic 180 (which had one spark plug), there is no rev limiter in classic pulsars. You can easily take it beyond 12,000 in first gear and in neutral (not at all recommended). As for pulsars choking at 8000rpm, I have regularly seen alloy wheel versions hitting the rev limiter in fifth gear! Of course you need straight stretch, favorable wind conditions and a good rider.

the limiter hits in at 9500-10000rpm (forgot the exact spot)

So I must've hit somewhere around 10000rpm. Is there anyway you could remove the limiter. I know its not recommended, but just curious.

Limiter is programed into the CDI in order to prevent the engine from revving excessively and damaging itself. So the only way you can get rid of it is by getting a custom made CDI without a revlimiter.

Getting a DTS-i CDI isn't going to do any wonders if your bike is already revving till 9200rpm. My 2 cents be happy with it!

Get your maths right the 180 dtsi is not geared to reach those speeds.

He has the first gen P180, so it does reach those speeds (indicated by the speedo that is).

LOL you have your answer. On the speedo i can make a Enfield Mofa reach 300kmph.

Did the firstgen p180 have a revlimiter?

Not ridden a p180 to the max revs. Has anyone one seen 9K+ on their Pulsars. The old gen Pulsar made max power at 8000 rpm so ithnk it might rev out to 9K, not sure though. Any pulsar owners here who have?
