Re: 2025 Hero Karizma XMR 210 launched with USD Fork and TFT screen

The XMR is an 'in-between' product. There's no reason why the XMR should be a 210cc machine when the Xtreme has a 250cc variant.

I'm pretty sure that Hero will launch a 250cc variant sooner or later, so unless you're on a budget, I wouldn't bother with the 210 XMR.

Recent reviews of the 210cc mill being used in the XPulse has been quite positive. They have fixed the Achilles heel of this engine, the vibrations, at least on the XPulse.

No harm in checking it out if you are in the market for a 150-200cc sportsbike like a R15, RS200, RC200 or the Gixxer 250. The last 3 are almost in a similar performance bracket. Good to have some variety.

Just wondering aloud, what is the technical mumbo-jumbo about the phrase - "Diamond like Carbon Coated Fingers Followed"? What exactly does this imply in terms of technical implementation on the engine side which reduces wear, increases durability and also better F.E.? I am unable to find any other street legal Indian 2 wheeler with this technology, which raises the question - why this but of information is so important for Hero to mention in brochure suddenly?

It is a bit more advanced tech in valve-trains though not really new. It is relatively rare on small bikes. Mostly reserved for high revving sports bikes. KTM small engines in India (sub 400) have DLC coated finger followers afaik.

Re: 2025 Hero Karizma XMR 210 launched with USD Fork and TFT screen

Back in the day, Karizma was pure class. 2000s was the golden period for this name. If there was anything premium after Pulsar, CBz and Unicorn it was this. Nothing else mattered. RE's were still in their cast engine era, or known to be an elephant.

The new gen Karizmas don't cut. It doesn't draw an emotion. When I hear Karizma, it only takes me to my college days, when it had oomph. This new bike doesn't draw the same emotion as before.

Hero does not have a high revving, higher capacity engine in their portfolio and it shows. A 400cc XMR would generate interest though would be hard pressed to displace the market leaders such a Triumph and RE. The X440 thumper cant sit well with the XMR and so a new R&D for just this product ( and maybe X-pulse) will entail more spending, but will Hero proceed with that ? As we always say : Time tells no lies and this time too the Karizma will be a victim to father time.

For what it is worth, they have a Speedbrain 450 basically ready to be homologated. Hero couldn't be bothered yet, it seems.

Re: 2025 Hero Karizma XMR 210 launched with USD Fork and TFT screen

Now the package looks good, but not complete.

But the main reason for the sales dump is the reach of customers to get a glimpse of these Hero premium bikes. In Bangalore, there are a handful of showrooms with 210+ cc motorcycles on display or for test rides. Imagine what the pan-India condition will be.

Hero needs to sort out the issue of the dealership's bike availability.

Team-BHP | (Rumour: Hero XPulse 400 ADV with 421cc engine in the works)

There is a liquid cooled 400 single in the works so it's safe to assume it'll spawn a triad, ADV, sportbike and a street naked or Xpulse, Karizma & Xtreme in Hero's parlance.

Doesn't this thing require a service every 10-11hours of operation?

Haven't heard about this, but such insane requirements aren't uncommon for such bikes. I was just assuming much of the bike's performance will be dialed down in the road-going version, as is common for homologated ones.

Haven't heard about the 400cc engine as well; any idea which one it is based on? Could it be the Speedbrain guys?

Not much info out there on this. I'm guessing it's an in house design with inputs from the minds over at Speedbrain.

There's like 2 spy shots of this Xpulse 421, one in the mountains, the other somewhere in city traffic.

Although a year or two ago Hero participated in a 400cc+ class of a Rally Championship in India.

So it could very well be a street legal version of this motor.

Hero is bad at marketing and explaining things during the launch. Diamond like carbon coating was there in the first XMR also. It was mentioned in Dino vault's review video. No wonder why a well proportionate design is not able to sell.
