Jawa 350 Legacy Edition launched at Rs 1.99 lakh

Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles is celebrating the 1st anniversary of the Jawa 350 with a new limited-edition model called the Legacy Edition. It is priced at Rs 1,98,950 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The Jawa 350 Legacy Edition is said to be inspired by the Jawa Type 353. Production will be limited to 500 units.

The Legacy Edition comes equipped with additional accessories as standard. These include a touring visor, a pillion backrest and a crash guard. Customers also get a collector’s edition miniature model of the Jawa 350 and a leather keychain.

The Jawa 350 Legacy Edition is powered by the same 334cc, single-cylinder engine as the standard model. It produces 22 BHP @ 7,000 rpm and 28.1 Nm @ 5,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

The Jawa 350 has a longer wheelbase and a ground clearance of 178 mm. It rides on wirespoke wheels with disc brakes at both ends supported by dual-channel ABS.

Looks nice, but too much of nostalgia tugging. They could have made it 30bhp with a larger production run, and turned it into a decent touring machine.

Is it rude to ask : WHY ? If RE does it, they can get away with it as the BRAND has the command, a sales of over 50k units a month and diverse pool of models with varying HP and riding styles. JAWA is trying to tug on the heartstrings but failed to make an impact on the conscious of the Indian customers as a brand.

That visor and backrest is making an otherwise beautiful bike look so ugly. A smaller visor like that of the Hunter would have looked fine.
