Re: Aprilia Tuono 457 Review

How good this bike is for shorter riders? For instance, I am 5'3" and felt RS 457 to be a bit tall for my liking during a test drive. Does Tuono 457 make any difference?

Both bikes have a reasonably approachable seat height of 800mm (no difference), but perhaps the lack of a fairing can make the Tuono feel a tad less intimidating and more confidence-inspiring for shorter riders. That said, I suggest you do try the bike once it hits dealerships in your city.

Re: Aprilia Tuono 457 Review

Fantastic review as always. Only concern I have about this bike is how compact and tightly packed overall package is for someone with height 6 foot and above. 800mm seat height and raised foot-pegs don’t work well for tall riders. I wish they had provided an adjustable seat option like 3rd Gen Duke 390.

Spending 5 Lakh on a motorcycle is still an aspirational thing for most Indians. So it’s not a lot to ask for a motorcycle to look substantially big and accommodating for every sizes. I guess I will have to wait for Tuareg 457 to upgrade from my humble 2nd Gen D390.

If you are not particular about the Tuono, please take a look at the MT03 instead.

With the 780mm seat height and the slim profile- it is much more accessible than the Aprilia 457 (based on my experience with the RS)

If not aspirational, atleast the experience of owning committed street nakeds like the Duke and using them on a daily basis will make us yearn for the ADV segment. As a fellow 2nd gen 390 owner, I too am waiting for the reliability of the recently launched 390 ADV and the Tuareg 457 for a good city and touring bike.

Re: Aprilia Tuono 457 Review

Thanks for the nice detailed review.
I have been watching all reviews out there for this bike.
I have few questions in mind.
1. There doesn’t seem to be an engine guard fitted on any of the media bikes. Most of the naked bikes gets engine guard fitted from factory. So is this not ready yet or it’s an accessory?
2. Why was there a strict 2 hours restriction for the media rides?
3. I don’t see any videos or info on the bike being delivered. Usually you’ll see quite a few. So the main question I have is, is the bike properly launched and homologated and stuff?

I have planned to head down to the nearest dealer this weekend. If anyone has answers, please feel free to share. Else, I’ll update on the weekend.

Re: Aprilia Tuono 457 Review

I had visited the Marathahalli Aprilia dealership in Bengaluru last weekend. They neither had the Tuono for display nor had any concrete idea on when it might arrive at the dealership for delivery and test drive.

My first hunch was that demand is higher than supply for now. On the other hand when inquired about the RS 457, they said it can be delivered in upto 2 days. I am inclined to believe them as they had 7 RS 457s sitting in the showroom awaiting delivery. To me this indicates the manufacturing and assembly of the platform is quick, and hopefully it translates to quicker delivery of the Tuono as well, since these bikes share the same parts.

Re: Aprilia Tuono 457 Review

Amazing that there are no delivery videos and actual on road reviews after the initial media ride!

They should learn from KTM/Bajaj.

iirc, RS457 also took a while to reach the dealerships after the initial reviews dropped.

Re: Aprilia Tuono 457 Review

For 2 months, the showroom has been saying next month to start test ride as well as deliveries along with them. Now its going to be April.

No news from company itself.

To add to this, no further content from any YouTube journalists or influencers either. Surprisingly, the Autocar India got it for their yearly track day event. From what I noticed, it didn’t have any number plates. Why is it taking so long? Curious 🤨

Re: Aprilia Tuono 457 Review

Tuono lapped the COASTT circuit in an identical time to the RS457 with Rajni onboard. It had a QS though. But the Tuono is essentially an RS without fairing in true Aprilia fashion.

Re: Aprilia Tuono 457 Review

Folks, I am very confused hearing all these engine issues with the Aprilia 457 twin engine. I have set my heart on the tuono - but all these engine issue talk is worrying me. I really wanted a naked 'modern' twin cylinder under 6 Lakhs and Tuono is the only option I see. Can anyone throw more light on this?

Have you considered the MT-03?

Re: Aprilia Tuono 457 Review

Aprilia Tuono 457 reaches dealerships; test rides soon?

It has been more than a month since the launch of the Aprilia Tuono 457 in India, and the first units have now started reaching dealerships. Some of these will be demo bikes, and we can expect test rides to commence soon.

Aprilia Tuono 457 Review-screenshot-20250407-122729.jpg

The Aprilia Tuono 457 is based on the RS 457 sportbike. The naked streetfighter comes with a unique LED headlamp with LED DRLs on either side. The exposed frame is flanked by sporty fairings.

The Tuono 457 offers a more upright riding position compared to the more aggressive RS 457. It has a slightly raised handlebar and a 2-piece stepped seat.

The Tuono 457 uses the familiar 457cc parallel-twin engine from the RS 457. It makes 46.9 BHP @ 9,400 rpm and 43.5 Nm @ 6,700 rpm and is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. Aprilia does offer a quickshifter, but it's optional.

The Tuono 457 is equipped with an adjustable USD fork in the front and a mono-shock in the rear. Braking duties are handled by disc brakes at both ends, supported by dual-channel ABS.
