The Ola Roadster X+ has a minimalistic design with a two-tone bodywork, a wraparound LED headlamp, and a 4.3-inch LCD instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity. It offers features such as tyre pressure alerts, geo and time fencing, and tow and theft fencing.

The Roadster X+ is available with a 4.5 kWh battery with 252 km of range and a 9.1 kWh battery pack offering a range of 501 km. Both versions come with an 11 kW electric motor, which enables the bike to reach a top speed of 125 km/h.

The Roadster X+ is equipped with a conventional telescopic fork at the front and dual shock absorbers at the rear. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels, while braking is handled by a single disc up front and a drum brake at the rear.

The bike has three riding modes: Eco, Normal, and Sport. Other features include cruise control, regenerative braking, brake-by-wire with single-channel ABS, and a reverse mode.

Deliveries of the Ola Roadster X will begin in mid-March. The Roadster X+ 9.1 kWh version will be available sometime post June 2025.

Ola Roadster X+ ex-showroom prices:

  • 4.5 kWh – Rs 1.05 lakh
  • 9.1 kWh – Rs 1.55 lakh

Crazy Specs & crazy pricing! I don't know how & what Ola is doing this but whatever they are doing are surely grabbing eye-balls. Claimed 250 kms range even if it transpires 150-180km on a bike is just stunning!! And if its true, it will put some EV hatchbacks to shame.

Re: Ola Roadster X+ launched at Rs 1.05 lakh | Maximum range of up to 501 km

The 500km range seems too good to be true currently. Although those same specs can convert a lot of premium customers from the midrange capacity bikes. I would, if it was from Bajaj/Honda. Theoretically, 2.5lakh for the 16kw Roadster Pro with 500kms range and performance would mean the end for any of our current 400cc/mid range ICE bikes.

On the official site, there's no X+ model yet. Plus, pricing and specs dont match the existing roadsters. 4.5kw models offer 200km range for the roadster X. Costs 99,999INR.

The motorcycle personally looks like a college project to me. Really poorly put together even in the close up photos and makes the Ola scooters look good.

Re: Ola Roadster X+ launched at Rs 1.05 lakh | Maximum range of up to 501 km

Incredibly mouth watering, decided to look at the launch video where they mention flat cables with standard connectors and I thought I heard them say computer cable (maybe just for a comparison) engineers can help but will a EV not essentially have a higher current rating flowing through ? I am sure they tested this and am asking for my clarification. I understand in the same video that the motor is directly connected to the battery pack, would that be the reason that the wiring harness is perhaps the new kind since the biggest load is taken out of the equation. They reference 4 kilos of weight drop that's a whole lot just for cable weight.

500 km range for this price is just so good , personally did not like the statement that find me a rider who does 500 km I have done it and I am sure many many in the forum have too. It was 500 km with fuel stops but no breaks this was from Dandeli to Chennai on a CBR 250r. Total was more clearly just counting the no breaks stops if he meant that and I am noob to long distance riding - the champs here will outlast that anyday.

Somewhere inside I am just not biting - this sounds too good but. I am maybe still a little wary of the quality which I am sure they will have addressed.

Re: Ola Roadster X+ launched at Rs 1.05 lakh | Maximum range of up to 501 km

There is more to a motorcycle than just the power output of the electric motor.

Olas have been notoriously known to overheat even with relatively puny outputs of their S1 Pro scooters and can hardly sustain even 80% of top speed for more than a few minutes. One look at that Hero Splendor'esque swingarm (have a look at the ones on an Ather or TVS X) and the absense of a radiator shows that not much has been done in the heat dissipation department till now.

Coming to the 52kW (70hp) Roadster Pro, there is the weight of the batteries that need to be accounted for. The 16 kWh battery pack itself will weigh anywhere from 100-135 kilos. So much weight, so high up will cause problems with handling and suspension tuning. For context, the total weight of a 2024 KTM Duke 390 including a full tank of fuel is 168kg. Maybe in the cruiser form factor, this weight penalty can be better managed since the incumbents there are much heavier (Super Meteor 650 / Vulcan 650 are 230-240kg).

Till these are not resolved, Ola cannot stake claim at the 400cc segment even if the Roadster pro comes with a motor output that is more comparable to the imported 650s.

I wish Ola all the best on their efforts but for now, they have more pressing issues than the core engineering ones mentioned above.

Ola has seriously lost its credibility. These are just big launches and with unrealistic claims to keep its share price at some level, giving enough time for pump and dump activities. The basic attitude, approach and philosophy of its founder matches that of a fraud and scamster rather than a passionate inventor or entrepreneur.

Flat cables are similar to bus bars which have very high current, only difference is they are also insulated and more flexible.
Most EV battery packs in cars have a internal flat bus bar to bring the positive or negative terminal located in the opposite ends of the pack, such that they can exit out of the battery case via terminals only on one side.

Re: Ola Roadster X+ launched at Rs 1.05 lakh | Maximum range of up to 501 km

Sorry to say this but, the bike looks like something out of Pran Comics or a college project, UGLY as sin.

Also with regards to the claims made on range, power etc, I would strongly urge anyone planning on purchasing these bikes to wait for release and then a period of 6-9 months before biting the bullet.

To me it seems as though Ola wants to keep managing the news cycles to keep stock prices up. A close friend picked up the S1 a year ago, and it was in the SVC for 4 months. Would never recommend an Ola at this juncture.

There is hope though that they have learnt from past mistakes and have come up with a solid project but only time and mass usage on road will tell.

Specs look good. However, they look so bad with things just bolted together without a proper design. Hope most of the weight is well below and its not difficult to handle.

Re: Ola Roadster X+ launched at Rs 1.05 lakh | Maximum range of up to 501 km

This is perhaps the most concerning automobile launch I have witnessed and has all the makings of a disaster (for the consumers).

1) Infamous for over promising and underdelivering, borderlining on straight up fraud? check.
2) Produces for substandard and under engineered products known for failing and putting the safety of the users in jeopardy? Check
3) Known for peddling blatant lies and poorly concealed marketing gimmicks? Check

This has more red flags than a monk selling you cigarettes and the fact it looks like an engineering student's final year project is not doing it any favours.

Does the enthusiast in me still hope that Ola, for once, actually pulls through without any problematic shenanigans? Certainly, but I would realistically rather hedge my bets on Kawasaki pricing their bikes right than on these bikes being even half-decent.

There's a popular statement used in the gaming community before new game launches, which I feel is very apt in this scenario:

Remember, people:
DO NOT PRE-ORDER/BOOK A NEW PRODUCT.

Wait for six months to a year to understand where the product stands, because reliability issues in other bikes usually mean nothing worse than a small trip to the service center to fix a sensor.

Reliability issues with an Ola, on the other hand, could mean your bike engages the reverse gear or worse yet, turns into a unicycle at 120 km/h (200km/h on the pro!).

Looks like they prototyped the OG splendor and retrofitted the battery pack into it and called it a day after covering up the bulk with that ungodly looking fairing.

This doesn't look like a born electric vehicle by any stretch of imagination. This looks like some jugaad put together in a hurry in order to keep investors happy after all those negative press they recieved.

Edit: Did they call themselves the largest ev maker in the world barring China? Hahaha that's like me coming home with 60 in Maths and claiming I'm the class topper in my house.

Why does it look like the bike has an incomplete fairing?

The side faring is a functional part, it channels the air to cool the battery and the motor.

I was expecting it to look really cool and sporty however Ola has put on their practical thinking caps, given how successful they are with their scooters - I hope they got it right.

What is amazing though is the price, a 9KWH lithium battery from a name brand is far more expensive - that is just the battery alone.
