Hey Kedar, I test rode the Vit and Duke 250 back to back and found the Vitpilen to be more relaxed in terms of posture. It was vibey but unable to find out if that is how the motorcycle behaves or if it was the test motorcycle only. It is more or less the 250 Duke in a more practical attire. And yes the jewels were not subjected to any tingling in the Vit.

If you are going for a used motorcycle, try to identify if the Dominar suits your riding pattern. Dominar is heavy and cumbersome in the city and does not offer great fuel economy for commutes. It is a nice cruiser as it has the heft and performance for stable long highway rides. Which Dominar are you planning to buy? 250 or 400?

Although I haven't ridden the Gen 3 Dukes but just like the Gixxer I have ridden a rental Gen 2 Duke 250 to Yelagiri hills (about 150-160 kms from Bangalore) and even that was decently stable. Ideally, Vitpilen should be equally good, if not better.
I feel like the power output of the Vitpilen seems more like a worthy upgrade from the Hunter compared to that of the Gixxer 250.

I am a 45 year old uncle, who has been riding Pulsar 200 in Singapore some 10 years ago. I am planning to move back to Bangalore and get back to riding motorcycles again.

I think the Bajaj Avenger 220 is a good bike for me, I plan to drop and pickup my daughter daily from Hebbal to Yelahanka which is about 6.5kms and although Bangalore is known for bad traffic, this particular stretch is on airport road, so it is likely to be smooth.

I think the 180-250cc is a sweet spot for me. So I am mostly looking at bikes in this category. My first bike was the pulsar 150 I bought in 2003, with the round headlamp and spoke wheels and have ridden pulsar extensively.

I have ridden the Honda Phantom 200cc here in Singapore briefly, which is made in Thailand and looks just like the avenger, it is nice bike too.

Why don't you check out the V Storm 250. From what everyone is saying, it is a comfortable motorcycle with a nice seat. Or you could check out the Honda CB200X, which is a adv kitted Hornet. The Avenger is a very old model with minimal updates over the years. I just googled the Phantom and it looks quite nice. What did India do to not deserve those products from Honda?

Hi everyone, I have an update for you all. After much deliberation, I have gone and booked the Husky 250. Thank you for all your inputs that helped me make my decision.

Current Husky 250 is extremely underrated and it's way more practical than a Duke 250 for the average Indian buyer. It's just the lack of badge recognition that lets it down in the market. You still get all the good stuff from the Duke plus the powertrain & drivetrain parts are pretty much similar.

Congrats on your new purchase! You made an excellent choice. It's a looker and carries all the excitement from its orange cousin.

I am being offered an Oct 2024 model of Vitpilen. Is that okay ? Or should I ask for a later model?

If it were me buying, discounts be damned, id always go for a recently manufactured bike/car. I don't trust the storage/use of the vehicle when it's with the dealer. And any savings don't really matter if you hold on to your vehicles for a long time.

Thanks, I spent some more time studying bikes and I have kind of narrowed down to the Honda CB200X and the Hero Xpulse 200 4v.

I read the thread https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/motor...ic-jams-6.html (Bengaluru's Urban Warrior - What motorcycle to tackle the concrete jungle, potholes & traffic jams?)

and really enjoyed it. I like the Xpulse styling infact the 200T with round headlamps looks a bit like the Triump speed 400. It is sad they discontinued it. If I get a good condition 200T in Bangalore I am buying it.

Re: Leaving the Hunter 350: Is the KTM 250 Duke the Right Upgrade?

Hey guys I am 18 and am planning on purchasing my first bike soon. My parents were originally against the KTM Duke series but now after the recent price cuts of the D250 and the new less obnoxious black colour my mother is willing to consider it. The reason I looked at the 250 is that I usually prefer peaceful performance with the speed bug biting me only occasionally and this is why I thought of the 250. I've heard that the 200 and the 390 are more aggressive. What do you think ?

I also thought of the Honda CB300R but the parts availability in Bangalore is still and issue and it is more expensive with a really small fuel tank.

Please help me with this matter

Thanks so much for the help in advance
