November 2024: Indian Motorcycle & Scooter Sales Figures & Analysis

NOTES:

1: Thanks to the team at Auto Punditz for sharing these sales numbers with us!

2: Only bikes that sell 500+ units (and thus, the relevant ones) have been included in the gainers & losers chart.

3. These manufacturer-reported sales numbers are factory dispatches to dealerships. They are NOT retail sales figures to end customers.

I guess the numbers reflect the post festive effect, as overall sales are down this month.

All models (except the Pulsar 125cc) have shown negative progress in the Top 20 month on month movement. Even the Top Losers (month on month) show a drastic drop in numbers. Except for Okinawa and Ather, all manufacturers' sales show negative year on year changes.

TVS should start giving seperate numbers for the Jupiter 110 and 125,
Good to that Jupiter is doing 1 Lakh units for 3 months now, A fantstic product, With essential features.

Signs are visible from the numbers that people are moving on and Honda isn't, Let's wait for a couple of months to see if Jupiter makes a serious dent on Activa sales.

Wheres the statistics for Mr. Future Agarwal and co.? Are they directly releasing sales figures for December 2026 through their AI prediction or have they forgotten to do their monthly tasks?

Curious about RE sales, do they generally have a quiet November with the motoverse happening or was there some plant shutdown?

The fall in numbers for Bajaj Freedom seems to be drastic. I thought it is a novel product with CNG economy and expected it to do well in the computer bike segment. Any specific reason for such low numbers?

Re: November 2024: Indian Motorcycle & Scooter Sales Figures & Analysis

A few months ago, I read that Japanese women have been riding and taking part in Royal Enfield trips organized by RE. The trips were meant to promote RE bikes among Japanese men. Shows how likeable their bikes are.

Everyday I see so many different Enfields that look absolutely smashing, the Himalayan, Interceptor, even the Classic with spoke wheels looks gorgeous.

I'm not aware of their per-bike margins, but I'm certain they would be the Toyota of 2 wheeler segment.

The relaunch of Jawa/Yezdi made them even more aggressive and in the last 3-4 years, they've been launching new models like none other.

For a brand operating in 350+cc segment doing 50k+ numbers, this is simply unbelievable. The scene looks similar at Eicher motors too, you'd be surprised to see the number of new Eicher trucks on road today. More like the Swift of the mini trucks category.

I was in a Royal Enfield showroom in Karnataka last month to book an Interceptor 650 and the sales executive warned me to expect a waiting period of 2 months (which is twice the usual), because the RE manufacturing plants were shut down due to the cyclone Fengal.

Kawasaki Ninja H2 SX SE sales number is -1 for Nov Month. Any idea what this means? Is it that the dealer returned vehicle to the Manufacturer?

It means that a vehicle billed in previous month was reversed. The numbers we see in these reports are numbers billed by the manufacturers to the dealers. Not necessarily all these bikes actually reached the dealership physically in the same month.

For the case you are asking, most likely, the vehicle was billed and then cancelled without it actually reaching the dealer location.
