* It doesn't actually have a turbocharger, Yamaha says the YECVT provides a surge of acceleration in T-mode, typically associated with turbocharged engines.

In a conventional CVT, the primary pulley adjusts its position based on the pressure exerted by the rollers, which is influenced by the engine RPM.

In electrically assisted CVTs, the primary pulley changes positions electrically based on commands from the TCU (Transmission Control Unit) via a drive motor.

This allows the inclusion of acceleration modes, which enable the scooter to accelerate or decelerate quicker than conventional CVTs.

Re: Yamaha Aerox Alpha unveiled in Indonesia

Aerox has been clocking steady volumes (2,500+ per month on average). I was very close to buying the Aerox 155 S, but now it seems prudent to wait for the Aerox Alpha. Will the old Aerox continue to be sold in foreign markets? Won't this create problems with spares and body panels for existing Aerox 155 owners?
