Italian 2-wheeler brand Velocifero has launched the VLF Tennis electric scooter in India. Priced at Rs 1.30 lakh, the new e-scooter will be assembled at KAW Veloce Motors’ facility in Kolhapur. Deliveries will begin on November 25.



The VLF Tennis is a stylish e-scooter featuring 2-tone bodywork, a flat seat and a 5-inch TFT instrument console. It has an under-seat storage cubby that can hold a half-face helmet.

The VLF Tennis is powered by a 2.5 kWh battery pack that is said to offer a maximum range of 130 km (IDC) on a single charge. The scooter is propelled using a 1.5 kW hub motor and can achieve a top speed of 65 km/h. The e-scooter comes with a 720-watt charger, which takes about 3 hours to charge the battery.

The VLF Tennis rides on 12-inch wheels and is equipped with a telescopic fork at the front and a cantilever mono-shock with an aluminium swingarm at the rear. Braking is handled by discs at both ends.

Dead on arrival. Spending 1.3 lakhs for a top speed of 65km. Why wouldn't I rather get the eActiva or even S1 Pro for that matter.

The sheer number of E-scooters in the market reminds me of the "Wearbles" space in the Electronics space. Both are dime a dozen and end up as E-Waste in the blink of an eye. So much for EVs being green and sustainable.

The only thing going for this scooter is its styling. Beyond that, it has nothing to entice a prospective buyer - small battery, small boot, hub motor, low top speed, high price and not information on fast charging.

I'm surprised by the weight figures. Is it really only 88kgs with the battery or is it without including the removable battery? I couldn't find any information in their website.
