Re: Fitting tubeless spoked wheels on my Royal Enfield Himalayan 450

Might seem to be a bit silly, but why wouldn't you be able to use these wheels on other models?

Re: Fitting tubeless spoked wheels on my Royal Enfield Himalayan 450

Tubeless rims setup from RE looks flawless and comprehensive for retrofitting.

My friend bought a New Himalayan 450 Hanle black color last month.

Now we are trying to order the tubeless rims through the dealer here in Delhi but they informed that RE is overbooked for tubeless rims and not accepting new orders as of now. Even these tubeless rims are out of stock on RE app merchandise section.

Re: Fitting tubeless spoked wheels on my Royal Enfield Himalayan 450

Maybe a stupid question, but wouldn't these spokes be more prone to bending/ breaking if you brush up against a curb? From the pics seems they are absolutely pushed out to the outer edge of the rim.

That looks nice!! Good you mixed things up.

BTW, does RE keep the old rims or do you get to carry them away? I assume we get to keep them since we paid for the bike. This part was never clear to me and RE can act funny at times.

Thank you Brother. I was skeptical at first but my better half after seeing the renders persuaded me to go for it, and it was a good decision.

Everything was returned to me. Including the wheels and the disc with abs ring, hub and cush rubbers.
I have to find a place to store it now.

Did you do any wheel balancing or alignment during the installation?

There is a mm straight gap in the tubeless set up. The valve needs to be at an angle. What do you guys think?

Re: Fitting tubeless spoked wheels on my Royal Enfield Himalayan 450

My Dealer in Delhi (Shree Radhey Govinda, Okhla) has quoted charges of ₹ 1,400 /- for fitment of new tubeless spoke wheels.
I've yet to receive new rims.
I request members who have got fitted, please share how much you paid for same.

Thank You .

No, didn’t do any. Looking forward to get the same done in Guwahati soon as there are no good technicians available at my place.

Don’t know why they have done this with the Himalayan set while on the Goan Classic wheels, the valves are in an angle.

Filling in air is going to be a pain in most pumps with a straight nozzle. Otherwise fantastic investment. Wish we have an arrangement at this price point for the Interceptor as well.

Cheers

Well, there is a government regulation on that and as per the recent revision (via which it was possible for Himalayan tubeless wheels), the present scenario looks like this:

Each manufacturer can get upto 70,000 units of imported wheels for two-wheelers transitioning to 35,000 vehicles.

The number is way less in case of 4-wheelers which is 5,000 only transitioning to 1,250 vehicles.

The latest amendment to the order can be seen as below

https://heavyindustries.gov.in/gazet...ent-order-2023

So, if any vehicle which is a really popular selling model and is going beyond the 35,000 mark, it wouldn’t be possible to import the rims for them unless a local supplier is found who can work with the original patent owner and sort out manufacturing within India.

What I was wondering more is if I could buy these rims and fit it on my Thunderbird 500?
