Aprilia had earlier registered a twin cylinder 450 for the Africa Eco Race as per reports from advrider.
Bikewale's article carries the images of the bike. It says the engine casing looks similar to the RS457 and the smaller radiator and single disc upfront point towards a smaller engine capacity.

It runs on a 21-17in spoke wheels setup. The chassis is said to borrow a lot of components from the larger 660 Tuareg. The bike spotted is a rally version so components like the fancy Ohlins suspension and the rear subframe may not be carried over to the production version.

The production version maybe unveiled at the EICMA show in Milan next month.

Aprilia has been racing the 660 in a lot of events and if their testing pattern is to be believed, they sure are working on the road going Tuareg 457. I mean, it makes all the sense in the world to put your newly developed small twin in at least three different frames, naked, sports and ADV. When I rode my friend's 457 all I could think was how good a Tuareg or Tuono version can be. That engine has a lot of punch everywhere to work in a middleweight ADV. And it'll be made here and priced well if RS457 pricing strategy is anything to go by. The sub 500 ADV segment growing so quick for us

This is the news I've been waiting for! I'm drooling at the thought of riding a twin cylinder Italian ADV beauty that could possibly cost under 5L! And the fact that it would be made in India is a cherry on top.

I only hope this comes with tubeless spoke rims out of the factory like the Tuareg 660 does.

A twin cylinder ADV with pricing at about 5l ex showroom making close to 47hp is a wet dream for most of us here. With the RS457 capturing attention in the baby sport category , this can seriously make Aprilia a viable competition in our market.

Spot on strategy by Aprilia. This was already in speculation with the type of product the RS457 is. Indians are gonna access world class Made in India products now. Looking forward to this launch. Hopefully Aprilia leaves the engine untouched from whatever the RS457 is tuned.

The Aprilia Tuareg 457 rally bike recently made its first public appearance. It seems the bike competed in a desert rally, giving us a glimpse of what could be the precursor to a production ADV based on the 457cc platform.



The bike seen in these images is clearly a racing prototype and not a pre-production version. While it looks all prepped to take on a Dakar rally stage, we know it’s based on the 457cc platform from the engine casing.

It's been speculated that this rally prototype could spawn a road-legal ADV that could rival the likes of the KTM 390 Adventure and Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. The Tuareg 457 will be positioned below the Tuareg 660 and sold alongside the RS 457 sport bike.



Moreover, Aprilia might further expand its 457 lineup in the future with the introduction of a Tuono 457 – a naked, streetfighter version of the RS 457.

When launched It will be a Banger, will be having a proven and butter smooth engine, mean time aprillia ASS will be expanded and for sure it will be not top heavy like Versys 650 or upcoming RE H 650. Tuareg will be nimble and flickable. It will significantly undercut Honda NX500 on cost due to localization.

I was scouting the internet last month if there was any hint of Tuareg 457 in development. Nice to see this pop up now. Interesting times for light weight <= 500cc adventure bikes. This being a twin cylinder is icing on the cake. The upcoming 2025 KTM 390 Adventure also seems to be purpose built. This year's EICMA will be interesting, hope they will display the Tuareg 457 there and release it in 2025.

Hope this will be locally manufactured and competitively priced, Aprilla RS 457. Around 5L ex-showroom for a twin cylinder ADV would help to get some market share from 390 ADV and Himalayan.

The Tuareg 660 currently sold in India is priced at 18.85 lakhs ex-showroom. So I think this will be competing with Honda NX550 ADV, even with localisation.
