Re: E85-compatible Honda CB300F Flex Fuel launched at Rs 1.70 lakh

Hello Tn31rider,

Congrats on your new purchase!! Did you take the delivery of your bike, I am eager to know about your initial riding experience.

I am also from Chennai and Planning to purchase CB 300F from a used bike dealer it's an 2023 model which has run just under 8K kms, But quite skeptical about the service part from Bigwing showrooms, How was your experience in dealing with the OMR Bigwing guys. Also I wanted to ask your opinion purchasing the 2023 CB300F what major difference would be there between the Flex Fuel and previous version.

The CB300F is a wonderful engine but beware some spares are an issue with this model. The showroom guys adviced to take any 350 but it was not to my liking. Regular wear and tear spares must not be an issue but any crash will set you back months(minimum 3 months in service center based on Bigwing Pondy). I hear the same wait for RTR 200 as well from my friend.

I've completed the first service and no issues so far. I use the bike sparingly and haven't taken more than 200km at a stretch for now. Did my service in pondicherry and during service I met a 300F rider who has clocked more than 10k km and gave great feedback for the bike.

This could be your single bike for both city and highway. You can expect a mileage of ~35kmpl if you ride well.

The flex fuel variant is E85 compatible but misses Bluetooth and USB charger to keep at same cost. I didn't mind not having bluetooth or charger.

The engine is E85 compliant but I've used only regular fuel for now. The manual says to use a mix 50:50 blend of regular with ethanol after an engine work or re-assembly.

I would only advice to get a good crash guard tall enough to keep plastic parts are safe. Cosmetic parts will be hard to get. I got zana but it covers only the engine.

They had corporate discount of 5k and also gave extended warranty free of charge. Currently they have additional exchange discount of 2k which I missed.

I opted for 5y OD + 5y TP insurance which cost me 22k. I paid a total of 2.14L OTR.

Re: E85-compatible Honda CB300F Flex Fuel launched at Rs 1.70 lakh

My CB300F has oil seepage on engine head. Done first service at 750km and currently at 950km.

The first 750km had no issues. Could this be due to excess oil filled during first free service?

Hope this be claimed under warranty. E85-compatible Honda CB300F Flex Fuel launched at Rs 1.70 lakh-img_20250203_191403.jpg

No, more of a blown gasket. Take it to service center, it's an easy fix. Not sure about warranty as it's a wear n tear part.

That should be repaired under warranty. It is not normal for a valve cover or head gasket to blow within such a short interval. It is badly sealed from factory and should be done under warranty procedure.

Honda really is slacking when it comes to the quality on their new Indian made bikes. A CB300F was parked right next to my Gixxer 250 once and the first thing I noticed was the poor plastic quality and fit & finish.

Re: E85-compatible Honda CB300F Flex Fuel launched at Rs 1.70 lakh

I've left the bike today at Big wing Puducherry. There were no technician at the time to inspect so I will know the status by tomorrow they said. Entered job card before leaving.

Spoke with the service manager regarding warranty he said parts replacement will be chargeable and the labour will be free of cost. Enquired about gasket availability and they said it's available.

I really hope they give back the bike in a couple of days.🤞

Re: E85-compatible Honda CB300F Flex Fuel launched at Rs 1.70 lakh

I got the bike back today after replacing the blown gasket and couldn't find any other issues with the engine. They charged for head cover gasket and rubber mounts total of ₹152. The service manager Kevin was very helpful with regards to the service. Hoping this is a one off issue with a faulty gasket and no other future issues

Sadly it highly is in case of valve cover/cylinder head cover gasket. Especially in Honda and Hero motorcycles. I suspect it is a common OEM for the rubber gasket who probably doesn't even have a QC unit, and both Hero and Honda are cutting cost/corners with a poor quality product despite multiple reported issues across many different bikes. I've come across this very issue reported in Unicorn, XPulse, CB350 and now CB300.
