There are no official details whatsover but as per the earlier leaks, the R is speculated to be at 885mm seat height with 230mm suspension travel.

The S and X are supposed to have 825mm seat height and 200mm gc? The seat height wasnt too tall from the videos from IBW as the bike was on paddock stand and 5'10" people were almost flat footing it.

Also looks like the X will ride on 19-17 alloys and the S will be on 21-17 tubeless spokes when they launch in January.

Shaking my head. All these 'journos' had to do was take a measuring tape with them and record some hard numbers. Instead we rely on KTM to publish some questionable numbers (they've always played with weight figures and god knows what else). Did all motorcycle companies fire some launch people? Because himalayan 450, KLX230 and dirt 390 all seem to have disastrous launches

Surely with the different front wheel sizes, the seat height is going to be different between the X and the S right? I feel like the S is similar to the current adv but has a tapered profile at the front.

Possible. Just checked out Bulu biker's instagram reel where he sits on the S. And he speculates its closer to 835-840mm based on his experience with the older ADV and his NX500. Lets see how it turns out. The slimmer profile would mean it wont be hard to manage even if its taller.

KTM official has been dropping some info on the SMC R and the Enduro R. Some of the specs like seat height, TFT screen with navigation, fully switchable ABS, adjustable suspension are all good.

Given KTM's double financial fiasco, am not sure they are in a position to do production rounds. So I as a prospective buyer, am not sure even if its launched, will I willing to plonk 5L. The worrying part is there is no news coming of Bajaj or someone bailing it out.

So essentially we are left with just one product in the sub 500 cc ADV market i.e. Himalayan 450

Just had a talk with one of the KTM showroom guys where I have booked the Adventure S, and surprisingly, he said they will get the bikes by next week, with deliveries starting by the end of this month. This has to be one of the weirdest launches for such an anticipated bike.

I have been told that the 390 ADV will be launched on Feb 2nd or 3rd with pricing. And deliveries to start by February end. Lets see. Eagerly awaiting for the price announcement.

So it's offical. The new ADV 390 S and probably the Enduro R are getting launched on 30th Jan.

Finally, the elusive launch date is out!!! I have pre-booked the S in Chennai and hope to get my hands on my machine in Feb. Tubeless spoke wheels and Cruise control as standard will be game changers.

Hope they launch the Enduro too as there are many waiting for the same. Prefebly with a lower seat as an accessory.

And hope they launch atleast 2 colour variants for the S, one including the orange trellis. The S in current avataar visually looks a bit underwhelming compared to the R. Given their financial troubles, they should give their best, as its almost a do or die situation.

With many ADV bikes such as 390 adv S, the 390 Enduro, the BMW450, TVS300 adv, new xpulse 210, H750 etc, I will wait a bit to try and sample some of them and make an informed decision.
