2024 Hero Xtreme 160R 2V launched at Rs 1.11 lakh

Hero MotoCorp has launched the 2024 edition of the Xtreme 160R 2V. It costs Rs 1.11 lakh (ex-showroom), which makes it Rs 10,000 cheaper than the previous model.

The 2024 Xtreme 160R received minor updates, including a revised tail lamp and a new seat. The bike also gets a digital instrument console with a Drag Race Timer with two modes: D1 for measuring 0-60 km/h acceleration and D2 for measuring the quarter-mile time.

The Xtreme 160R 2V is powered by a 163.2cc, single-cylinder engine that makes 14.79 BHP and 14 Nm and is paired with a 5-speed gearbox.

The bike is equipped with a conventional telescopic front fork and an adjustable monoshock at the rear. The brake setup consists of a disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear.

Re: 2024 Hero Xtreme 160R 2V launched at Rs 1.11 lakh

I don't think adding drag performance measurement modes on a streetbike that will almost never be used in a legal drag race is a good idea. A 163cc bike making not even a complete 15 bhp will make it a moot point anyways.
Plus, these are motivators for risky behvaiour, most of which will be on public roads.

Rather, a ride timing counter, a fuel efficiency counter, etc. will be more useful as I see on my 2013 Duke 390. They're massively useful in real life scenarios.

Re: 2024 Hero Xtreme 160R 2V launched at Rs 1.11 lakh

At Rs 1.11 lakh (ex-showroom), this is a good option for someone who is not interested in buying a FZ or Unicorn.

The good:
  • Proven and reliable engine derived from Unicorn/Hunk/Xtreme
  • Cool Design with slightly rear set foot pegs
  • All LED lighting
  • Basic Digital meter with brightness adjustment
  • Wide tyres
  • Soft suspension
  • Excellent handling
  • 50-55 kmpl

The bad:
  • Low sales
  • Only one variant and color
  • No hinge for petrol lid
  • No windscreen
  • Slightly smaller in size compared to other 150-160cc bikes
