(although that piano black insert underneath the LED strip gives it a slight Hitler moustache look. Maybe it's just me. Best not to call it the Jewpiter.)

It will dent Jupiter 125 sales with same USP features being offered at lower price along with few segment first features as well. 110cc is good enough for most riders especially for inner city use.

TVS has to rethink its Jupiter 125 strategy since its cost is quite high with same features as 110cc model now.

True. Maybe their increase in cubic capacity to 113.5cc suggests that they might either bump the 125 up (dare we dream of a 150/160cc scooter, a whole new product line like the upcoming Hero Xoom 160), or just do away with it entirely and go electric. Need to wait and watch.

re: 2024 TVS Jupiter launched at Rs. 73,700

Oh boy, that is one sharp looking scooter that's also well rounded! (pun intended!)

Finally TVS, in their own style, updated the scooter and I must say I am very impressed. The current jupiter (110+125) already sells 75K units per month. Will this update take it above the crucial 1L units per month? I really wish so!

There are so many things that TVS spearheaded when they have launched this scooter way back in 2013, and the industry had to swallow the bitter pill and incorporate those features in their existing products. Some that I can remember are

1. Body Balance (Even weight distribution between front & rear)
2. EZ side stand
3. External fuel filler lid (most notable!)
4. 12-inch wheels (Most notable as well!)
5. Matte finish paint (the matte grey one, which no other scooter in the market had)
6. 3D emblem (Yes, they marketed that as a premium feature, rivals had stickers)
7. Glove box light and USB charger

Even though some features were present in the predecessor Wego, but market accepted only the Jupiter because it looked like, well, the largest selling scooter in India. Even Hero tried to make an Activa copy and called it Destini. It looked 99% similar to Activa but met its destiny in terms of sales, I guess!

TVS' scooter sales, which was crying for volumes finally picked up pace after Jupiter's launch in 2013. It went on to sell a million, 2 million, 5 million, and then TVS didn't update us about the cumulative sales count since launch. The most notable thing that helped TVS is that in every Activa Vs Jupiter comparison, Jupiter won hands down, atleast in the youtube videos.

Proud to see homegrown companies like TVS & Bajaj giving us such quality products. Wake up, Hero & Honda!

So far we have seen scooters in 110cc/125cc/etc. segment only. Is TVS planning to create a new 115cc segment with the new Jupiter?
I mean how big of a difference is it anyways, 110 115 more or less the same. One-ten rolls of the tongue quite easily too.
I understand this in the case of Kawasaki that markets it's 450s as 500s.

IIRC the bs6 forced all 2 wheelers to move to FI systems instead of carburettors. You won't find a kick starter in any BS6 two wheeler vehicle now.

Looks like the connected DRL feature is making it to scooters now from cars,
A very refreshing design change from the boring old scooters,
Love that it has a metal body.

Should have had better colour options IMO.

Why do you say so Sir?

The predecessor to this is a BS6 Jupiter 110, and has a Kick Starter.

Likewise there are many BS6 2 wheelers at the entry level/executive level segment which have kick start lever. Heck! Even the XPulse 200 4v, a 200cc class adv also offers it.

Psst: There was a certain Bajaj CT which made to the BS6 era with an electronic carb and not a FI system. BS6 Ph.II killed it though.

Kick starter is available in the new Jupiter as well in lower variants. Only the SmartXonnect variants doesn’t have, that’s the same case with Honda duos - Activa and Dio. They too don’t have kicker in H-Smart variants. I’m not sure about the technical logic behind that decision but when I asked the SA, he told me that H-Smart variants comes with bigger battery and never goes out of charge so we don’t need a kicker

re: 2024 TVS Jupiter launched at Rs. 73,700

The design looks absolutely cool. However I would say it's not entirely new. It seems to be inspired from TVS I QUBE which is more than a couple of years old design. But this should take Jupiter sales to next level, hopefully close to Activa sales. I am expecting an updated Jupiter 125 in a short time. All the best to TVS team which has done a fantastic job.

Design seems inspired from iCUBE. Pretty good by the way.

re: 2024 TVS Jupiter launched at Rs. 73,700

Get the TVS Jupiter 110 (Disc SmartXonnect) or the Activa 125 (Disc)?
Jupiter is new, bigger boot, 12" front and rear wheels, larger disc brakes (220mm vs 190mm).
Activa is wider, 0.6Nm more torque, a bigger engine by 10cc.
Both cost almost the same. (Ex-sh Gurgaon)

Some of the pictures hot from the launch.

Good to see them highlight the things that matter and not just Bluetooth integration, maps and turn by turn etc...it's refreshing to see functionality over form with the focus on leg space, storage, ease of filling fuel etc. This one should be a winner hopefully!

Perfect example of tuning a product to actual user needs. A lot of features added to this generation of the Jupiter actually seem stuff that I would appreciate, and is not gimmicky. I've had a Jupiter for 6 years now and I already am so happy with it because it's such a sorted and extremely comfortable vehicle. With the new gen they've even tempted me to upgrade, although I have no plans of getting a new scooter. Kudos to TVS, they really have done some market research!

Really love the looks and also the features they have provided. They have proved this with both bikes and scooters.
I really want TVS to come up with a BEV car. I am sure technically it will be good and even looks would be good

Mine is a MY Nov'23 ZX SmartXonnect drum variant (E20 compliant) and it has a kicker.

But anyways that's a bummer shouldn't be excluded.
