(the gen 2 pro has the same motor as gen 1, doesnt get the updated mcu either and doesnt get 11kw of power either)
Ola S1x air and X varients puch too much power to motor , even exceeding manufacturer ratings, this is the reason over temperature cutt off happens in less than 20kms even at Bangalore temperatures.

Hub motors with drum brakes can heat up faster than hubs with disc's.

Manufacturer's program a de-rating algorithm in controller to push lesser power based on motor temps, eventually coming down to total halt.

Only few brands have done the right thing by either limiting acceleration or having active cooling like Ather and tvs.

Ola motor and battery life is a question if consistently running at power modes.

I feel after multiple test rides and owning a S1x , it's a bad purchase and ended using eco or normal mode.

Brakes in ola along with the ingenious invention of mother of God feature "cutting power while having fingers at brakes" is a extreme feature to have me living.

Would recommend to choose bikes with disc brakes with proper stopping performance for any more than 5kw of power and speeds more than 60kmph.

As BIG OEMs have their closed loop of brake partners who can supply parts as per their spec and volume where they can make proper drum systems with cbs.

Ola, Ampere and some more 3rd level EV brands get brake systems from a brand called advik. Their performance are good for a light scooter with medium speed.

Be careful and do multiple test drives before booking your scooter.

Agree with all your points, I had felt the same things, the power level is good compared to others, but the biggest problem was the laggy accelerator. I own an S1 Pro, so it was far more apparent on the hub motor variants. Once you let go of the accelerator, it still accelerates for half a second.

The brakes were honestly very weak, I drive my scooter pretty fast, hitting 80-90-100 in case the roads are free or 110+ on the highway (speedo indicated, scooter does 109 kph indicated by Google GPS when scooters speedo was showing 120) because it has discs at the front and rear, with the x+, I didn't cross 55s, because the brakes were that weak and when I took my mom as pillion, stayed at 40s and under because of the extra weight.

Regen stopped working within about 10 minutes of spirited driving basically in Bangalore,+ regen is far weaker, and the regen and power is less refined compared to Chetak/Iqube IMO.

The front brakes are still good, but the rear is honestly very weird and bad. Instead of having 2 brake lines running from the left master cylinder, one to the front and one to the rear, they have single brake line running from both the left and right, which then goes into a splitter, and then a single brake line goes to the front and back, the splitter adds more points for bubbles to get trapped (it has bleed screw, but none of the sc workers want to do the extra work) and the worst part is the implementation is very weird, it is not linear at all. You barely have any rear brake at all, then it suddenly progresses into the front, due to which you honestly don't have any feel. I have locked up my rear quite a few times as I had zero feedback and can't even accurately estimate as the brakes fade really quick.

For others reading, please take a good long td (15+ kms) and note down whether these things are a dealbreaker for you, and most importantly that the Ola WILL break down, and NO ONE will help you and that your scooter will be an expensive demo unit for a long time

Hi, can I also suggest for you to take a look at the Ampere Nexus as well? That is, in case you haven't made a a purchase already. It's more like a stealth EV scooter with not many owning it, yet. I own one and am reasonable happy with the ride quality and the ergonomic seat height-to-handlebar position. The only gripe being lack of availability of accessories, but otherwise a nice looking vehicle with traditional scooter-like looks
Cheers

PS: attaching a pic of the vehicle since am sure not many have seen it, yet

How is the underseat storage, can a full size helmet fit inside.

Yes, a full face helmet does fit in the underseat storage. There's barely any more space left once a helmet sits in there. Let me share a pic later if it helps.

Hi, it would be great if you post a review about your Nexus

You must tag along with a TBHP Mod and do a detailed review of the Nexus. I don't think the scooter will gain much attention so a separate review would be unlikely. After your post I checked out the website. The scooter looks premium however there are some statements like 'longest seat in the segment' etc which may be incorrect. Rizta looking at Nexus

iQube owner here.. My iQube would turn 2 years on this 26th and has completed some 7200+ kms till date.

As @salluks has pointed here, I will definitely recommend iQube any day. You can read my short reviews in the iQube thread.

Ola - I see that you have already rejected. From the number of bad reviews that I get to see, I feel you have taken the right choice.

Now, let me add a couple of pointers here.

1. You have mentioned that your primary purpose is for local errands, shopping etc., Check out the scooter's weight. My wife finds it a bit difficult because of the weight. So, she doesn't prefer using it. However, we have a friend who also owns an iQube - both husband & wife uses iQube quite well. They find it comfortable.

2. All these EVs have a lot of fancy features thrown-in like, maps, Bluetooth for call / audio, guide-me-home lamps, Alexa/Siri, document storage etc., The list goes on. But believe me, you are NOT going to use them. Or, at the best case, you might use it for fancy or very very rarely. So, don't select the scooter based on all these fancy not-so-practical features.

3. Try out Hero Vida V1 as well as Ampere Nexus.

Cheers!

You should have a look at River Indie. It does all that Ather Rizta does and head turning and no fancy features.
