Suzuki Motorcycle India has recalled close to 4 lakh scooters and bikes.



A total of 3,88,411 scooters, which include the Access 125, Burgman Street 125 and Avenis 125 manufactured between April 30, 2022, and December 3, 2022, are affected by this recall. According to Suzuki, the reason for the recall is a faulty high-tension cord, which is connected to the ignition coil.

The V-Strom 800 DE has also been recalled over a faulty rear tyre. According to the company, some portion of the tyre tread may separate, leading to cracks in the tyre.

Suzuki will notify customers of the affected 2-wheelers to notify them about the recall. Customers will be required to bring their 2-wheelers to their nearest service centre. The repairs will be done free of cost.

Owners can check if their scooter or bike is among those affected by this recall by entering the VIN on Suzuki's official website.

That's quite a big recall. I appreciate companies coming forward and being willing to accept defects and correct them, brings in more trust towards the brand, rather than acting like nothing has happened or will take action when something happens

Wow, that's a massive recall. My respect for Suzuki increased by a ton. This should be just one reason why my next scooter must be from Suzuki.
