I think the tripper navigation will be an optional feature like it is today. So it's not a new unit and it's available in their other models as well like the Meteor or old Himalayan. If they were to add tachometer, they'd have to develop it afresh.

Tripper comes as standard in chrome colors. Yes they should develop a new unit. Adding tachometer would increase the value of tripper a lot. In its current state its a waste of space and money. They should have done and this would have felt like an upgrade (they also missed out on aluminium switch cubes)

Re: Royal Enfield to launch updated Classic 350 next month

I don't know how much of a cash grab the custom paint color/design scheme is but it's a good thing the manufacturer is doing it. OEM finishing is generally better than most paint shops. The Speed 400 custom tank(alone) job costs 10k. I think it's a bit overpriced for just a paint job with no design. The Enfield is a more proper full bike paint job. They could price it at 50k, who knows.

Re: Royal Enfield to launch updated Classic 350 next month

Royal enfield is trying a different route to entice new generation buyer, custom paints. It will be interesting to see whether this option works wonder for RE’s main product.

I am keen to know how the market responds. If it is well recieved, we may see this for other motorcycles in RE’s lineup too. Quite liked this white custom paint job

That chrome on sidebox looks ugly imo in green-chrome color. Should have been green too.

Re: Royal Enfield to launch updated Classic 350 next month

I wish they had kept the colors a bit more subtle, but I am sure RE knows their target buyers better than I do.

As I wait for my Bullet 350 to be delivered, I am a bit relieved that I could get one with the ‘outdated’ halogen lighting before the Bullet also got upgraded to LEDs.

The only thing that interests me in this update are the adjustable levers. I hope they can be retrofitted to my bike in the future without having to do other modifications.

Re: Royal Enfield to launch updated Classic 350 next month

Looks absolutely smashing in the stealth black. They should've remained with the halogen setup but I think it's alright since LED's are the modern trend. Hopefully not much on the price increase but market loves this motorcycle.

Almost all reviews I have read (I may be wrong) say that LEDs don't perform well. I don't understand this assumption that LEDs are automatically good. Especially on a classic or the Std 350 model, this has no appeal to me.
The spread of the halogen in the Std is decent, and I wish they had just equipped with it better halogens like the advanced models from Philips or Osram.

Can the adjustable levers be fit on to the older classic 350s and the Std 350s?

Don't expect any radical changes to the 350cc engines, at least for this generation.

Case in point- look at the 650cc engine- they have remained the same since their inception in 2018. And with good reason- why fix something that isn't broken? Same with the 350s, which are almost universally lauded for their improved refinement coupled with their 'charm'. RE now have something for everyone- want old-school? Pick the 350. Want a twin, or something more substantial? Go for the 650s. Want a more modern, high-revving experience on a lighter platform? 450 it is. They have no reason to change anything, and probably shouldn't either.

The only whispers of a new engine platform are the ones we hear of the 440cc air-cooled one, which will be a larger version of the existing 411. Time will tell when that comes and how it'll fit into their current product range.
It has been pointed out that the next iteration of the J-series is far away. I do feel, and want, that the Std 350 could do with some more torque.
I am curious if this is attainable without any major changes to the basic engine design?
Are we perhaps looking at a hike in CCs from 349 to 399 when they eventually work on the next J-series?
Or, are there other ways of taking up the torque?
