BMW Motorrad will launch its CE 04 electric scooter in India on July 24.



The BMW CE 04 is a futuristic-looking electric scooter. It is powered by a liquid-cooled permanent-magnet synchronous motor that develops 41.4 BHP @ 4,900 rpm and 61 Nm @ 1,500 rpm. It can accelerate from 0-50 km/h in 2.6 seconds, and the top speed is limited to 120 km/h.

The electric motor is powered by a lithium-ion battery pack offering a maximum range of 129 km (WMTC cycle). It can be recharged to 100% in 4 hours and 20 minutes. A fast charger can charge the battery in 1 hour and 40 minutes.

The CE 04 comes with telescopic fork suspension and a side-mounted rear mono-shock while braking duties are handled by discs on both ends supported by ABS.

BMW Motorrad had opened pre-launch bookings for the CE 04 electric scooter in India. It will be officially launched on July 24, 2024.

Some months ago, I was out riding near Hosur and came across a bunch of BMW EV scooters being test-ridden. To my eyes, they looked surprisingly compact.

It'll be interesting to know the pricing.

PS: Can anyone confirm if these scooters are built by TVS?

I think it is made in Germany. Confused it with another BMW scooter being sold in India.

It is likely to just be a showcase/halo product and targeted as a rich man's toy, probably.

Don't see the average scooter guy buying it.

It will be VFM compared to the Vespa dragon edition, for sure
I am really drawn to the aestheics of this scooter though, looks a bit dystopian, reminding me of Oblivion and the like.

CE02 is the one I'm more interested in. Compact electric bike will be something fresh in our market.

Buddy, from what I remember, it seems like a freakishly fun bike. However, I'm unsure as to how the pricing can make sense in a country such as India.

I suppose the CE 02 is built on the same platform as the TVS X.

It gets an 8.5kWh battery with a claimed range of 130km

Bookings are open and deliveries will begin in September.

"Ugly" is the only word I can think of but BMW outdid themselves this time with that atrocious pricing. I cannot wait to see all paid promoters on youtube praising this left-right-center and give us tons of reasons why everyone should buy this instead of Ather or any other alternative. (pardon my exaggeration, but not far from truth)

I'm still wondering how Ather Rizta can give 159kms range with 3.7kwh battery but this bike is claiming to give 130km with such a large 8.5kwh battery pack. Is this a performance scooter? or a super scooter?
