I'm still wondering how Ather Rizta can give 159kms range with 3.7kwh battery but this bike is claiming to give 130km with such a large 8.5kwh battery pack.

It's about twice as heavy as the Ather at over 200 Kg.

The pricing outside India is also similar (very high). I don't think our reviewers will praise this too much, instead, they may say one can buy a decent EV car for the same price. This is certainly looking futuristic and different from what scooters we have seen. In any case, this is one of those products which will be sold in single or double digits in a year.

I was wondering why the BMW CE 04 would have such a low range. Then I realized that the weight (230kg), power(41bhp), and torque(62nm) figures are what matter here. If these figures had been the same as Ather's, the BMW would have had a higher range.

I went for a test ride of the CE-04 in Paris... over two years ago. It was a new-ish thing then, with some quite-nice-to-have and clever features, specially for European urban mobility.
The difference is, by todays' standards its drivetrain and battery tech are ancient.

A bloody looker though, with a presence to match. You'd think it was worth the money. Almost.

Buy a Tiago EV and an Ather 450x Apex and be happy about it over getting a CE 04. Though it looks great and brand value is premium, the price is not justified in a 2 wheeler segment. They can sell overpriced cars but buyers of such products in the 2 wheeler segment are niche.

Attended the launch event in Delhi. The electric scooter looks insanely cool in person. Yes, the price is not for everyone, but neither is the bike. It will most likely be bought by someone who loves the BMW brand and wants this as a novelty product in his/her garage.
