Re: Ather Rizta Review

Got my Rizta delivered on 2nd July. Loving every bit of it. Pro pack is really of great use and using all the additional features which got activated along with it. Only the bluetooth function has not activated yet and will take few days more and activate OTA.

The smart eco mode is perfect for city mode and trust me the pick up is more than adequate for cities. On highways and broad empty roads, zip mode does the duty well.

Waiting for the accessories, which will be coming to the showroom soon.

That's my 9 year old taking the delivery

Looking good. Congrats.

Here is the usual question. Which variant is it? (S? or Z?) what sized battery pack and how much range (how many km per full charge) are you getting assuming you are mostly riding it in eco mode. With just 1 person or 2 adults?

Its the Z variant with 2.9kwh. Until now getting a range of approx 90kms with a mix usage of Zip mode and Smart eco. I use magic twist mostly for braking at low speeds or slowing down the vehicle at high speed. Coasting regeneration function is on. I am getting lesser range currently because am having fun with the power of zip mode.

Re: Ather Rizta Review

Test rides have started in Bengaluru from today. They only have the top variant. It seems, other variants will take some more time to arrive at the showrooms.

I visited the Jayanagar showroom. They have one Z variant for test ride and one for display.

Below are my observations based on the test ride (vehicle only had run 10kms with 100% charge and showing 82kms range):

WHAT I LIKED:
1. The seat is wide, long and comfortable.
2. Under seat boot is huge.
3. Sitting position is at a good height compared to other EV scooters and even some of the petrol scooters. This feel commanding during the ride.
4. Overall build, fit and finish seems to be good.
5. Zip mode was fun to ride with more than sufficient power for city rides.
6. Breaks were sufficient.

WHAT I DID NOT LIKE:
1. The handle bar is bit on the heavier side, you can feel the weight.
2. The smart eco mode was very slow to accelerate and no fun at all. This is adequate in stop and go conditions when the traffic is heavy. For all other conditions, this is really not sufficient. Even with full throttle, the vehicle hesitates a lot.
3. Since smart eco is no fun at all, you will probably end up using the zip mode most of the times, meaning lesser range.
4. The continuous whistle sound which gets louder with speed is really annoying.
5. Suspension is not plush, it is slightly on the firmer side (compared to IQUBE).

Few other points:
1. I enquired about the delayed deliveries in Bengaluru compared to some of the northern states already getting deliveries. The response was, demand being higher in the north which is contradicting with other statements I had read online that north was not aware much about Ather until their recent marketing!
2. The showroom personnel did not show much interest in selling the vehicle. They were dull like the smart eco mode of the vehicle

I mostly will cancel the pre-booking. Now, I have only the River Indie left to revisit.

Re: Ather Rizta Review

Hi,
I too have pre booked the Rizta after being impressed by the looks and some of the features like the hill-hold assist and large leg room.
This will be my first time checking out an EV for a test drive.
Meanwhile, if you have driven Chetak ev, how do you compare it with Rizta?

Re: Ather Rizta Review

I have booked an Ather Rizta Z 3.7 kWh in Deccan Grey (Dual Tone) It costed me a bomb (from a 2 wheeler perspective) Rs. 1.90L on road with 2 accessories (side step and trunk bag) The Rizta specific accessories is not available as of now. What other accessories should I look for? The delivery is planned next week. Like cars, is there a Chassis Number which can help to know the Month of Manufacturing? This is my first 2 wheeler post 3 car purchases.

IMO, based on the extensive test ride, it's not worth that kind of price. Accessories mentioned in the website are the ones available, they do update for new ones.

I really liked the look of the Chetak. I did multiple test rides of their premium, urban and the latest 2901 models. All of them had the same issues.

First, front suspension is really bad. It creates rattles and vibrations, can be felt on the handle bar and the pillion support.

Next, the handle bar is heavy, so manuevaring is cumbersome.

Also, the ride is jerky as acceleration and deceleration causes too much back and forth movement even in normal mode.

Finally, ASS as seen on various forums online is not good.

For these reasons, dropped the same. Hope this helps.

Re: Ather Rizta Review

I checked out the Rizta and honestly, I somehow felt it was a bit too expensive for what it offers, The features, space and practicality are all good, but spending close to 2 lakhs on the Rizta Z 3.7 kWh just seems a bit too much. My cousin who was looking for a scooter is now considering alternatives, the River Indie and the iQube are the ones on his mind.

The thing with Ather is the prices shown are all without the Pro Pack, when you add that to the price, along with just the basic accessories the price shoots up to around the 2 lakh level for the 3.7 kWh variant. But for those who want the most spacious scooter, which is feature loaded and reliable and don't mind the near 2 lakh pricing, I would recommend the Rizta Z 3.7 kWh model.

Re: Ather Rizta Review

I test drove the Ather Rizta yesterday(28 Jul) in Bangalore. I made a booking 2 days after the announcement and was very eager for its release and TD.

I came out semi disappointed after the test drive and fully disappointed after a talk with the sales advisor.
Let me explain.

In my mind, the Rizta is very overpriced, and Ather is trying to keep it in the same league as 450 series when its really not and is gimped on many things.

There is no touchscreen even on the highest variant, and the joystick control felt really slow to operate with each action taking 3-5 seconds to update on the screen. Not sure if this was just the vehicle I used or all of them.

There is a single mode(zip), as the smart eco is pretty much useless to drive, and zip is also a toned down version for "family" reasons.

Due to these reasons I feel the base variant is enough for my requirements, but the deliveries for the mid and low variant is planned for October or November. After the EMPS subsidy ends on September we don't know what kind of EV subsidy the govt will provide for 2W, if any, so the vehicle might get even costlier and it just doesn't make any sense.

I am honestly not feeling it with Rizta, I am still holding on just because its Ather and their strong EV background.

On a sidenote I also checked out the River Indie which is near Ather's showroom and came out really impressed. Feels like a solid offering from a new company, and this is the only reason I am holding back on River, unsure of their long term reliability and stability for the company and the vehicle.

Leaning towards River for now. Time will tell.
Peace.

A couple of my friends from Bangalore also have the same opinion, they just can't accept the Rizta and would prefer a much more powerful scooter, the Indie made sense to them and they have booked it, Hopefully they have a good experience with it!

How does one confirm the Battery Size for the Z variant? I have purchased an Ather Rizta Z 3.7 kWh variant. However in the app it shows, 123 KMs range for 99% battery on Smarteco mode. Is there a mention of the battery size on the scooter? The Z variant 2.9 and 3.7 kWh has everything else in common except the battery size. I am only being cautious that after paying for the bigger battery size, the dealer does not hand over me the smaller one.
