Royal Enfield Himalayan-based Flat Track 450 unveiled

Royal Enfield has unveiled the Flat Track 450, a purpose-built flat-tracking bike based on the new Himalayan 450. It was showcased at the London Bike Shed Moto Show.

The Flat Track 450 has a simple design with an exposed frame and minimal body panels made from carbon fibre. The bike has a flat handlebar with a telescopic fork at the front and a mono-shock at the rear.

The Flat Track 450 is powered by the same engine as the Himalayan 450. On the road bike, this 452cc liquid-cooled unit produces 39.5 BHP and 40 Nm and is paired with a 6-speed gearbox.

The Flat Track 450 is equipped with a race exhaust. The bike rides on alloy wheels shod with Maxxis tyres and has a massive rear disc brake.

The Royal Enfield Flat Track 450 is expected to replace the FT411, which was based on the old 411cc Himalayan.

Is this a test mule with camouflage? Maybe I am the one with poor taste, but this just looks ugly to me. Here are some options in market for flat-track racing.
