Royal Enfield Himalayan-based Guerrilla 450

-Guerrilla 450 is the next 450cc bike from Royal Enfield

-Will rival KTM 390 Duke

-Launch in a few months

It looks like Royal Enfield is very close to launching its second 450cc motorcycle based on the Himalayan 450. This new bike will be called the Guerrilla 450 and the official logo for this bike has also been registered with the authorities.

In the world of the internet, this motorcycle was previously called the Roadster 450 and also the Hunter 450. But with this new logo, it is clear that the next 450cc motorcycle from Royal Enfield will be called the Guerrilla 450.

From the spy shots that we have seen over the last year, a few things are clear with this motorcycle. The Guerrilla will get 17-inch alloy wheels on both ends and is likely to be wrapped inwith road-focused CEAT tyres. Unlike the Himalayan 450, which will get USD front forks, the spy shots show the Hunter 450 test mule sporting conventional telescopic forks. The overall riding stance looks comfortable, with a wide handlebar, and slightly rear-set footpegs.

In terms of performance, this Royal Enfield will be powered by the same 450cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine which makes 40bhp and 40Nm of peak torque. This motor will be mated to a six-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch.

With this street bike, Royal Enfield is planning to pull some customers away from bikes like the KTM 390 Duke and also the Triumph Speed 400. The Guerrilla is likely to carry a price tag of around Rs 2.5 lakh (ex-showroom).

Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan-based Guerrilla 450

Should do well with lesser weight and USD forks at the front.

Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan-based Guerrilla 450

The above bikewale picture in in fact a render, and an inaccurate one at so. The monoshock present is of an absurd length, and spy shots of test mules found driving on the roads show that the suspension is telescopic and not USD.

What I hope to see is the Instrument Cluster from the Himalayan 450 retained, perhaps along with riding modes.

Does not look anywhere tight enough to be a street fighter. Handling wise. Engine performance of the new 450 we already know.

Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 spied up close; new details revealed

A pre-production test mule of the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 has been spotted testing. The latest spy images reveal the upcoming bike in much more detail.

The Guerrilla 450 gets a circular LED headlamp with LED turn signals and a single-pod instrument console. The bike has a teardrop-shaped fuel tank and a single-piece seat with a split grab handle.

The Guerrilla 450 has a different stance compared to its ADV version, the Himalayan 450. The bike rides on telescopic front forks with rubber gaiters for extra protection and a mono-shock at the rear. It is fitted with alloy wheels wrapped in road-biased tyres.

The Guerrilla 450 will be powered by the same Sherpa 450 engine. This 452cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder unit produces 39 BHP @ 8,000 rpm and 40 Nm @ 5,500 rpm. The engine will be paired with a 6-speed gearbox.

Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan-based Guerrilla 450

From the overall look, rake and the size of those tyres, it looks like the Dominar story repeated. Look at that front tyre ...

Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan-based Guerrilla 450

Looks hot. Better proportions and stance than the Speed 400. But will it have that level of refinement and agility? I think not. Let's see.

Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan-based Guerrilla 450

RE certainly knows how to design products and differentiate the different products within its portfolio!
All the recent launches have been killers in looks department (Hunter, Himalayan, Shotgun, not to forget the Interceptor and GT650)

How many manufacturers today can claim such lookers across portfolio? Even the perceived quality is going up day by day, product by product. No wonder exports are going up to western markets and the share price too !

Way to go RE. I am sure this one would be priced much lower than Himalayan due to obvious omissions of equipment not required for a road friendly bike.

Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan-based Guerrilla 450

Sherpa with this frame size could really be engaging to ride! And I’m sure RE will tune it a little different than that of the Himalayan. But on the refinement it’s still a big Q! My Himalayan is not refined can never be .

Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan-based Guerrilla 450

2.5 lakhs is a stellar price for this bike. Hopefully, RE can manage to keep the weight as minimum as possible.

Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan-based Guerrilla 450

A lot boils down to the weight of this motorbike. Anyone buying this would likely be a target for city usage as the elder sibling would be far better choice otherwise in terms of take it anywhere motorbike.

If the weight and accessibility (saddle reach, side-stand lean, etc) are decent then it could prove to be a very valuable competition. However RE also has to tune it for low-end because Sherpa 450 in its current state of tune on New Himalayan is dead below 3k rpm, and the added weight makes it worse for city usage.

Given that its frame and engine is shared - Fuel Tank, The Heavy Front and Rear Shocks along with Wheels would be first to go away.
They haven't removed the center stand but I think it'd be less useful thanks to tubeless alloys.
Overall it'd be a 0-100 in 6-7 seconds bike, which is quite good in that expected price.

Looks like RE might sandwich it between Speed 400 and Pulsar 400 wrt pricing. The weight reduction doesn't look drastic though.

Not a high quality post, but here is a video showing the Himalayan display on the top end Guerilla.
