Re: My Restoration Story: 1986 Rajdoot / Yamaha RD350

Justin,

Congratulations. Hats off to your perceiviernce

The bike looks lovely, as if it has rolled off the showroom just now.

Sajeev seems to have really done a great job on this. Khuddos to him as well, is in order.

Now please keep using her regularly.

All the best

Ride safe.

Congratulations for the built. Are older bikes still being given extension to run on public road?
What bore number your cylinder kit is running? You haven't thought of fiber reeds for intake valves?

Looks awesome! If you don't mind sharing, which mechanic/workshop in Trivandrum did you engage for this build? How did you go about sourcing the parts? Were you guided by the mechanic on what parts to get?

Thank You. As of now, there is no restriction on using older bikes as long as the papers are valid including Pollution. Most of these two strokes come out only once in a while, only very few are using them daily. My Bike is running 0.50 size and the Reeds are Original Yamaha units, No plans for fiber reeds as my bike is running stock ports.

Thank You. Workshop details are already shared on the first post. This bike was done at Sreedhar Motors Nathancode, Trivandrum and the man behind is Sajeev Sreedhar.

Yes, I was fully involved in this build from the beginning., Parts are imported with the help of some of my friends. Yes, my mech was the guiding force , we discussed and planned for the entire build from start to end.

Hats off to your perseverance and unwavering attention to detailing. This will put a showroom spec bike to shame. Another winner from Saji's garage for sure

Good to see another original RD that will rule the roads for many years to come and proud that it will grace the roads of Trivandrum.

Re: My Restoration Story: 1986 Rajdoot / Yamaha RD350

A picture of this very bike (TDD 6232) was my work laptop's wallpaper for the longest time. I diligently keep a track of RD350 prices and I don't think I'll be able to get hold of one in this lifetime

Great to read a 2 stroke thread in 2024. Your bike looks amazing, and I hope it puts a smile on your face every single day for a long long time to come!
