I don’t think there is any issue with the bike. If there was any issue, there would have been a recall by now. Honda PR wouldn't let people speculate. And I don't see any recall. I think it is about supply and Honda not being able to meet the demand.

And dealers not wanting to take the blame any further.

Everything barring the new TFT and the front fairing has been carried forward from the CB 500 X 2022 + model.

I could be wrong here but I really don’t think Honda will stop production for a turn signal issue, something they can fix very easily without disrupting production.

Almost all manufacturers import from Thailand. Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Triumph - you name it, all of them have huge production lines in Thailand, which has free trade agreement with lots of countries.

If there is any stoppage from Thailand, it should affect all manufacturers. I don’t see any other manufacturer stopping shipments.

CR has launched accessories for the NX500. The quality looked good, so i picked up - upper guard, lower engine guard, bash plate and side stand extender at an inaugural price of around Rs. 25,000. This is their first time manufacturing crashguards.

I had ordered the kit (minus the side stand extender) on 19th April; still waiting to receive them. Where did you get yours installed?

This is quite disappointing from Honda, uncertainties regarding deliveries without assigning a proper reason will definitely sow doubts in the minds of prospective buyers, those who have booked and the few who have received deliveries. Honda should be more proactive and forthcoming with the reason for delay. But this isn't new from Honda, they are known to stop their models abruptly or do sudden price correction in India. Among all the Japs, I must say, Kawasaki is slightly better, atleast they offer their entire line-up and their products last a bit longer in the market but their service centres and service experience is quite limited hampering product penetration. NX500 is a very important product for Honda's premium bike section in India, hope they know it!

Interesting turn of events.

Suzuki guys are already delivering Vstrom 800DE here in Bangalore. Just in our group, there has been 3 deliveries.
Shouldn't the same restrictions apply to them?

Price cuts are always good to hear but they also need to increase their service reach and improve customer confidence.

And regarding Honda India stopping the deliveries; this was bound to happen sooner or later, based on their track record.

Honda needs to be boycotted. They simply can’t just overprice their stuff and then not even give it to people who want to pay those prices for their “famed reliability”. Even Suzuki is selling stuff when it comes to bikes. Honda is as lazy as a sloth, if not slower. Same story with Honda Cars, and I say this as a recent Honda City buyer.

As others reported, I too got the news from BigWing Topline Bangalore that NX500 deliveries are delayed till Oct 2024 or Jan 2025. With no commitment from them as to which month they can keep the delivery promise , I went ahead & canceled the booking. Hard decision but necessary one when a brand doesnt respect a market.

Plan is to get a 390 ADV X from KTM.

The much dreaded call arrived today. BigWing Goa said the deliveries have been pushed to October 2024. With the onset of monsoons, and the fact that I will be getting back on the saddle after a gap of 5-6 years, I was anyways going to limit my riding in these months. Took the hard decision to hold on to my booking of the White NX.

Had hand-carried the Honda fog lamp switch from the UK (This is unavailable in India). And the Squadron Pro turned on its brilliant allure The Honda comes with 'accessory port' which many may not know, (as they pull wiring from battery). So I left it to Big Wing, and their expert hands.

Has anyone ridden both the CB500X and NX500? Given the delays with the NX500, I'm considering a pre-owned CB500X for ₹6L. Is that a good deal?
