It is something RE has been doing for a while now. There are no major spec differences afaik. It is more of a business model. Keeping the Hanle black as more of a flagship and exclusive color.

Just the color nothing else!
Rims are made by the same company ! Just the black demands a premium!

I remember reading about the spoked tubeless rims here on this very thread and everyone seemed to wonder if it would be available separately. As far as I remember, it was an Italian company who manufactures these tubeless spoke rims and all because they've got a patent to themselves as on how to manufacture a tubeless spoked rims. And also, they do business with the likes of Triumph and other big ADV players. After I had gone back and checked it, they're of Spanish origin.

I went back, and fished this out for you:

I don't think any of these rims, black or gold, are tubeless. What I remember reading, here or elsewhere, is that the gold anodized ones are different (brand, manufacturer - not just color) to the black ones on the other color Himalayan versions. Maybe I am wrong. But that is my recall.

Gold is from Japan. Black, from Taiwan.

But within the blacks also there is different pricing.
Its an incremental 5K per stage between Base, Base +1, Base +2, Base+3 i.e Hanle Black which is nothing but "Pure Gold".

Its a different matter that I like the Kamet White and the Slates, else the cheapskate in me will not let me pay 14K difference for some "Fake Gold"

Don't you just love the old days when RE like Ford tod you that you could get any color as long as its black. There was an undeniable egalitarian beauty in that ....

As someone said on one of the YT influencer videos, these RE behave more like a Lifestyle company than a motorcycle manufacturer.

On a slightly different note, back in Mumbai, riding my Tiger feels so much easier now after riding H450, especially that I can put both feet almost properly on the ground. But am missing the superb brakes and easy gear shifting!

And so the heart keep yearning but the mind says control!

Do control, till they have sorted out the chassis issue.

Really? This comparison is apples to mangoes.

How about a comparison with Honda NX500 or KTM 390 Adventure?

Well, why not! To me the question is which other ADV will I add to my garage alongside the Tiger 800 XRX that I already own. And which will be my choice of steed over a bad patch or pure off -road trip.

And to "me" that is a legitimate "horses for courses" question.

Hence pls don't look at only 1 point but the whole post in entirety and couple of previous ones too.

Wait for the new Adventure 390 (or in whatever guise/s they launch it) before you decide on your rough small cheap basher. My sincere advice.
