I pulled 722 km over 14 hours on my Himalayan 450 today. I loved every bit of the ride. The bike sure has its 'not so good' points; which bike doesn't? I can live with the buzz/vibrations, supposed lack of low end torque etc. as long as it keeps putting a smile on my face. I have some long days of riding planned ahead and I am so looking forward it.

Yes, dealers are still fulfilling bookings from November but in a few weeks time, they should have cleared out the backlog. I found 4 Kamet White bikes waiting for delivery at a dealership. I am told bike will be delivered in 2nd week of March now from the earlier communicated date of 29th Feb. Hopefully, that's the last extension. Royal Enfield really needs to step up for those who book pre-launch. Half the joy and excitement is gone by now.

Thanks - glad to be able to get the feedback firsthand. Fuelxpro is a mod that am looking forward to hearing about. It's expensive but if it does improve the bottom end with no apparent side effects, it's worth the money!

Do keep us posted on how it changes the behavior of the bike as you try various settings from 3 to 10.

I'm planning to get the decat pipe from Speedmonks. Looks like the exhaust sound improves.They said it's stainless steel.

Any feedback on the quality of stuff from Speedmonks? Also, does this void warranty?

Guys had anyone used Way2speed to convert tubed rims to tubeless in Pune ? Do you have a reliable mechanic or shop where you got it done ?

I saw many YouTube videos where this (WayToSpeed Conversion) was done in Pune, you need to check those. but nobody has balanced the wheel after adding a kilo (Almost) of weight. I think that needs a relook. I opted for OUTEX (Cost me 8000, overseas), yet to install

Pitlane, Mundhwa, Hadapsar link has done this in the past. Check with them, I had inquired for my Interceptor but didn't opt for it and waited for alloy wheels.

I had first considered outex too but there have been quite a few complaints for outex application on Himalayan specifically. Since the front rim in Himalayan is thin, the centre groove where the outex tape is to be applied is really narrow and there are issues with it failing and peeling away. I have called around to people who have applied it and it's the same issue. That moots the point of converting it to tubeless when the front conversion can fail at any moment.

Any particular reason why you didn't go ahead with the conversion at that time ?

You must be talking about the old Himalayan, as for the new Himalayan I had to select a suzuki bike (Intl model) with the same specs. They will launch a new one in the coming months. Anyways, this promises to be an interesting project, lets see.

Yup the old Himalayan. Considering the outex kit is about 16K when bought in India I will wait for you to report on your experiment before I dive in

I am confused what performance mod to select without voiding warranty/jeopardizing PUC:
a) Decat pipes
b) FuelX pro
c) Rear Sprocket

All the above mods will void your warranty. For that matter, installing anything aftermarket such as a horn / light upgrade or engine oil of a different grade will void warranty.

Is it worth going for an upgrade on any bike given it voids warranty?
Also what about PUC, especially with removal of cat?

I have ordered both 3M 4412 tape as well as 3M 5200 Marine Selant.
Will be doing tubeless conversion of both my Desert Sled as well as H452 soon.

Let's see which one turns out better.
