Pre-production or production bikes or not, as long as you are using the bike for advertisement, everything should be perfect otherwise people will question quality issues even before it hits the showroom.

This is the stuff you can never unsee once you see it. Hats off to your observation! These minute details do matter. They could have done a better job as this could have been caught and rectified at so many levels before the video was put out.

Hero doing hero things. They need to ramp up quality levels seriously or they will lose customers before even building an image in premium products just like they did with X440. Makes me glad I chose Triumph instead of Hero/“Harley”.

From what I understand, compared to HDX440, Hero Mavrick misses out on USD forks & trellis frame. That should mean only one thing, extremely competitive pricing!

Maybe 2.09 L, 2.19 L, 2.29 L for 3 variants. That way it would not overlap with HD440 and it's premium positioning.

Re: Hero to launch Harley-Davidson X440-based bike in January 2024

First look at the Hero Mavrick 440.

Mavrick has slightly lower torque at 36Nm (X440 has 38Nm)

Price announcement and bookings open in February, deliveries to begin in April.

Mavrick will be available in three variants; Base, Mid, and Top and in five color palettes; Arctic White, Celestial Blue, Fearless Red, Phantom Black, and Enigma Black.

Re: Hero to launch Harley-Davidson X440-based bike in January 2024

Design "inspired" by the CB300r?
Though there are differences, it seems a copy-paste design from afar. Hope the bike is good to ride.

Re: Hero to launch Harley-Davidson X440-based bike in January 2024

Negatives of CB300R- no metal tank, so no tank bags for long ride. Small pillion seat. No connectivity options on the dash.

Positives of CB300R- Cracker of an engine combined with low weight, refinement.

I'm willing to bet that the Mavrick solves for most of the negatives, while not meeting any of the positives in a manner similar to the Honda. Completely different bikes then, even if they look similar. Should be fun to TR both together, and always good for us consumers to have more options.

Should also be a good characterful alternative to the Speed 400, but will be nowhere close in terms of quality. Hero must therefore price it much better.

Video walk around with exhaust sound, looks like a good attempt from hero.

Wonder if those 17 inch spoke wheel options can be an option to something like an Xpulse Sumo conversion

Re: Hero to launch Harley-Davidson X440-based bike in January 2024

That bike looks really sleek! While the Harley Davidson X440 may appear somewhat disproportionate from certain angles, this one seems to have nailed every aspect. With a not much price difference, hopefully, it appears to be a more favorable choice!

Re: Hero to launch Harley-Davidson X440-based bike in January 2024

That dual shock absorbers setup spoils the look, in my opinion. Backside half looks cheaper and ugly, also as per my understanding monoshocks are much comfortable and contributes to lesser weight. Hope Hero can price this bike sensibly to mask these tiny cost cuttings.

Looks like Hero has listened to X440 feedback like the exposed wires and concealed them nicely.

The indicators look like an afterthought in an otherwise well designed motorcycle. Same for the exhaust.
