November 2023: Indian Motorcycle & Scooter Sales Figures & Analysis

NOTES:

1: Thanks to the team at Auto Punditz for sharing these sales numbers with us!

2: Only bikes that sell 500+ units (and thus, the relevant ones) have been included in the gainers & losers chart.

3. These manufacturer-reported sales numbers are factory dispatches to dealerships. They are NOT retail sales figures to end customers.

I think it's about time Bajaj axes the Dominar twins and bring a clean sheet design to the original plan of a plusar 400. The Dominar is needlessly overweight and stiffly sprung to be what it could have been to the touring community.

Re: November 2023: Indian Motorcycle & Scooter Sales Figures & Analysis

Hello Aditya Sir
Thanks as always for the ardenous effort
Sales of the 650 twins seems unstoppable, RE is rocking with that engine; meanwhile Electra has stopped silently
TVS is rocking in scooters like crazy, both with EV as well as Petrol
Okinawa seems to be restructuring their products & their sales has been falling consistently this year, they now have only 2 product in sales compared to 7 beginning this year
As usual, Activa is always active at the top of sales chart; Dio 125 is outshining Dio 110; perhaps Dio 125 might chew away Dio 110, let's see what 2024 beholds

Thank you

It is good to see that CB300R is getting some volume after the new BS6.2 model getting launched with at decent price.
I hope it gets momentum going forward.

The failure of Dominar reminds me of the ad which they use to put during the initial days I think 2017/18 which was targeting Royal Enfield calling them elephants. Watching that ad I use to think they will compete with 350 classic
Another thing is Yamaha Fz, there was a time it was everyone's go-to bike in that segment. It was like Swift of 2 wheelers. Now Pulsar and Apache have won it back. I think post 2.0 version they have fallen back.

One question. Why there is no mention of Scrambler 400x units in the above charts? Any specific reason? Or the numbers in 400 column are of 400x and speed 400?

Re: November 2023: Indian Motorcycle & Scooter Sales Figures & Analysis

1. Price drop for CB300r Has seemed to help Honda.
2. Dominar segment can be considered dead for Bajaj. About time to re-brand and launch someting new. Pulsar brand won't cut it.
3. Harley X440 is doing pretty well, IMO - despite it's comparatively weaker marketing game at launch and all the sales niggles.
4. What's with that ~1100 percent difference in sales figure for Passion Plus!!!!
5. Triumph 400 twins started out well but they seem to be fading away, perhaps the Himalayan 450 had a lot of propesctive buyers held.

Check this out! Coolant leaked out right next to the last Royal Enfield Showroom that's near Sissu-Keylong route, as I wanted to get a chain-lube for the road. What Irony it was LOL
