Re: Kawasaki Eliminator 450 India launch by March 2024

After checking out the brand new Kawasaki Eliminator in person I was totally drooling big time in the showroom with my wife on toes trying to stop me from booking it.
I believe in never buying a product as soon as it is launched hence stopping myself as of now for another few months till at least 2-3 Ownership reviews are up on TBHP .
Looking at the comparison in price vs power and delivery Kawasaki Eliminator doesn't makes sense but for a person of my stature (5'3") this turns out to be an amazing option as of now in the market.
Booked myself for the test rides which will probably be available from next week.
Going to ride this one and Vulcan both together although my heart is totally on Eliminator and not on Vulcan for practicality, ground clearance and worst head light / blinkers.
Looking forward to TBHP official review on Eliminator soon.

Only reason for other bike styles to exist is seat height?

Honda themselves have a Rebel 500 internationally, along with Hornet 500 or CBR500R - none of which gives you an ADV for similar price. All form factors appeal to different people and riding styles.

Plus the NX500 has its own share of pricing complaints, being a CBU.

Quite unlikely. AFAIK - Kawasaki maintains a lean media fleet and only hands them out to a handful of the popular magazines, that too delayed mostly. More chances of ownership reports than reviews.

Well seat height is definitely one of the factors. I was personally considering to own Eliminator when I first saw it but price became a big let down.

'Kawasaki Eliminator', the name itself evokes fond memories from my study days. This used to be a cult bike, and now we have a chance to own it. I think the deal could have been sweeter, Rs 1 lakh less on-road. (And you can't fault me for expecting a price cut, come December), but then purists rarely get stopped at price :-)

Six months down the lane and there are no reviews on the board and a quick look at the sales numbers tells an 'expected' tale. No takers! Meanwhile, Royal Enfield sells a healthy 500+ Super Meteors every month.

Why is Kawasaki this blind???

Re: Kawasaki Eliminator 450 India launch by March 2024

Looks like a very interesting bike. It looks fabulous

it is 2L more than the RE Super meteor but 70 kgs lighter and 10mm more road clearance and apparently a lower CG which looks really good. from what I have understood the higher CC/power of the RE is kind of offset by the lower weight of the Eliminator

Anyone got a chance to try it out ?
.

It's Rs. 2.7-3L costlier depending on the RE variant. That's too much, even though the lower weight and higher ground clearance of the bike are rather enticing.

I got a chance to sit on it today and ride a few meters. wonderful torque on 1st and 2nd .

Its a breeze, feels so light ie easy to push on and off the bike. The RE feels Bigger and more formidable but feels far more heavier and sluggish than the 70KG difference.

Yes Price is the issue. feels a bit too much

If you have Pillion rider the Eliminator is not an option as its like sitting on a block of wood and the only use is if you want to interrogate someone- they will confess in 20 mins

That rings a bell. Was this not the very first model they launched in collaboration with Bajaj long ago, with a 175 cc engine?

Re: Kawasaki Eliminator 450 India launch by March 2024

I have gone ahead and Booked one

For ride quality, balance and the feeling of control I felt its far ahead of the RE. I am getting back to riding a Bike after decades and my first was also a KB125 so perhaps thats there somewhere.

For more experienced rider the RE might be a more VFM option though.

I have aways liked my vehicles to be a "heart" thing even if it meant stretching and every time I had brought in practicality it was never Fun.

Keen to hear your ownership review of the bike. Please list out what you loved and what could have been better.

Kawasaki Eliminator 450 India launch by March 2024-k.jpg

Made this meme to sum up Kawasaki logic.

I honestly wonder what the strategy is at Kwak India HQ

Sorry for the delay am logging in after quite a while.

I really like it. I am a casual rider and use it for city rides for 30-40kms at max only
A. +ves ie anyone could like it
1. Light to handle and a fantastic Centre of Gravity. Its so easy to manoeuvre even when the engine is off. so easy to sit on it and push forward and back with just your legs. this was the only reason I did no go for any of the RE
2. having both your feet comfortably on the ground helps in the above
3. the power. since you get 45bhp for the 176kg ( and your weight) and accelerating even on 45h/5th to overtake is so easy. this makes driving in the city very convenient.
4. 180 degree turns are quite easy due to 1 and 2. The Vulcan in comparison is so long that turning is not easy
5. folks at Rideventur Kawasaki have been very nice

B. Neutral ie hit or a miss based on who it is
1 the firing is smooth and a low growl. not sure if everyone will like it
2. The posture is slightly forward. some may find it preferable than the straight up pose.
3 Its different from most bikes and a real looker.

C. -ves..most would have an issue.
1. of course the price. take your own insurance and it does come down a bit.
2. rear seat is a brick and great way to torture folks
3. mirrors could have been wider especially for the price
4. did 100+ only twice and both times did not even realize how I go there but there is a slight vibration you can feel. not very bad
5. Accessories are expensive and not easy to find..
6. could have made it fully equipped including back rest for the price.

Re: Kawasaki Eliminator 450 India launch by March 2024

Checked the new Kawasaki Eliminator at Kawasaki, Wakdewadi Pune, felt very nimble and easily manageable, could flat foot and that might be one reason for the same. The weight distribution feels right. They did not have a test drive vehicle and told me that there isn't one in Pune so can't even pursue the same. Not sure how they are selling this motorcycle in India, if they even are.
