It means they are giving it a typical family scooter look, mix of Activa, Jupiter, Ola S1. Removal of rear disc seems cost cutting and footboard space seems increased, ground clearance also increased but handlebar height seems very close to rider’s leg as seen in spy pic. Let’s hope for a good handling scooter like Jupiter and iCUBE rather than Ola S1.

The teaser says 6 months! I was hoping this would be available in market much sooner. Ather might provide a comfortable ride on this one, considering it being promoted as a family scooter.

I am sorry but Rizta is such a sad name. Google is auto-correction to Rishta. This is also a better name! If you want to make your scooter reach the masses, you have to name it so that people can recall it and remember it easily. Punch was ridiculed and even I hated the name, but it's become so catchy and easy to remember now.
Compass, Jimny, Creta all are easy to remember and will have a recall value. Alcazar, Taigun, Tiguan they have no connection to anyone who is buying them, nor the brand recall of something aspirational. Same is the case with Ritza. Calling it Diesel would have been better!

Rizta word has a meaning according to the search I did. For India, it could also mean a play on Rishta and maybe some people will call it that

Not sure Ather needed another name for a model other than Ather xxx to identify it. They could be trying to differentiate the not so inexpensive scooters that they have which are not finding wide acceptance.

Ather Rizta wades through 400 mm of water in new video

Ather Energy has released a short video showing the Rizta electric scooter undergoing water-wading tests. It also reveals a few interesting details of the upcoming e-scooter.



In the video, the Ather Rizta can be seen cruising through a 400 mm deep trough of water. The test would also help the engineers understand how the components hold up when they come in contact with water, especially the battery pack, which is said to be IP67-rated.



You can see the LED headlight of the Rizta working even when submerged in water. Another component that will be put through tests is the touchscreen instrument console. It appears that the Rizta will get a similar TFT dash as the 450X.



The Rizta is Ather Energy's idea of a “family scooter”. It has a flat floorboard and a wide seat, which has already been teased by the company.
