My FIL was looking for a EV to replace his aging Activa. I have pre booked the Rizta Z 3.7kwh version in white. Now the wait begins.

The Ather 450s were small sized and great to zip around on in traffic, plus the convenience of lesser operating costs, this looks bigger like a Hero Duet or TVS iQube (atleast in the pictures) and may not be for the ones looking to zip through in tight gaps. Absence of ABS even now is a bummer, I personally felt those stock MRF tyres werent gripping too well either and the rear was a little skinny for all that torque on my test ride.

Excellent pricing from Ather. At 1.15 lac on road, this will be a runaway hit if the the quality is on par with the 450x.

It is great to see the new scooter garnering more attention and also bookings. While the 450 variants were faster and more sporty, the market for such a scooter is quite niche. Similar to the Aprilia/ Aerox scooters.

Where the volumes have been in our country, is the spacious and big scooter, which is also practical. Glad to see Ather realising this and trying to tap in to that segment. Wish them all the success.

The dealer near me (Thane) said that they will get the display vehicle by June, and deliveries will start by July.

I am stuck between Chetak (which is a really handsome scooter, even amongst ICE scooters as well) but Rizta's looks and other features like GMaps integration, under seat storage and big seat are growing on me.

But I am disappointed with the charging times.

Let's see, come June, I will have a look at both the scooters and just get one.
