Hope its light.

Enough of the elephant walk.

The NS 200 has a kerb weight of 159 kilos. That's highly promising.

Cheers, Doc

Re: Bajaj Pulsar NS400 is in the works; launch in 2024

The bike looks decent. But I was hoping they would implement a better design for the biggest Pulsar ever. This looks almost same as the NS200, which is not bad but needs some differentiation. At least one colour option should have been Blue or Yellow with minimal stickers like the original 200NS model had.

And an aluminium swingarm would complement the perimeter frame better than a box type one. The alloys are also exactly the same as their 200,250 & 160cc bikes.

If they price and market it right, it might sell in good numbers. Buyers would prefer this over some other options in the similar price range like the Suzuki 250s, CB300F etc.

Re: Bajaj Pulsar NS400 is in the works; launch in 2024

Deep Yawn (Looking at this motorcycle).

The design difference is not substantial when compared to NS 200 especially from the side.

The NS series has there been from a long time with minor cosmetic tweaks.

This just feels like another iteration of NS series; NS 125, 160, 200, 400.. (I donot know if missed some figure of cc).

The Bajaj Avenger all together a motorcycle with huge potential has been completely ignored and almost extinct from the market whereas Pulsars are over and overdone.

I'm surprised as to why no one is talking about the instrument cluster? So far on this thread we've seen the colors and I think they're damn good for a 400cc!

I got the image from the r/IndianBikes thread from Reddit, and I think it might be the best of both worlds. It's got a part digital LCD Display and another screen which is capable of displaying complex image elements, which I hope can be used for navigation and imo, will be the best navigation feature by function in its class.

To my eyes, the cluster looks a little too cluttered with too many colors. Could've been a little more minimalistic but hey, this belongs to a Pulsar and not a Royal Enfield.
Regarding navigation, it will mostly be turn by turn and IMO turn by turn navigation is as useful as the letter "p" in psychology. People generally praise an instrument cluster when it has a full TFT screen, only these get so much of buzz and circulation across pages.

I think it looks fine, just that the reduced overall image size in the pic attached earlier shows clutter.

Re: Bajaj Pulsar NS400 is in the works; launch in 2024

11 years ago, in 2013 when the Duke 390 was launched a year after the Duke 200, we had the same grumbling about why the bigger bike was not made to look different than its smaller stablemate.

11 tears down the line we see that it made zero difference to sales, and helped Bajaj hugely in terms if tooling and spares bin sharing and logistics costs.

Riders very well know which bike is which, with even a quick sideways glance on the road at speed. And surprisingly, un-like the early days jokes, I personally (aside from orange wheels which almost everyone loves) never saw any 200 guy trying to re-sticker his bike and make it look like a 390. So the Duke fraternity on either side were pretty happy with their crotch rockets. 200 or 390 (I am personally sort of agnostic on the 250s).

Cheers, Doc

I agree with the left half being busy with too many colors but once you get used to it, the brain automatically links each color with each functionality. And I also feel that navigation, if planned and executed properly, will aid in bettering the ride experience.

Red, green, blue, white;
Those are just too many colors for my eyes. Should be fine for the target audience I guess.

1,85,000

Killed it.

P S. No kerb weight yet ...

P.P.S. Lovely seeing the original man, Abraham Joseph (not the other way around as said by the marketing noob), all silver now, after 22 years! The beauty of Puneri family owned family run businesses. The FATHER of the Pulsar. Take a bow.

Re: Bajaj Pulsar NS400 is in the works; launch in 2024

Though I'm not in the market for a bike, kudos to Bajaj. I thought 1.99 would be an amazing start, but 1.85, man that is truly groundbreaking.

Absolutely shocked. Good bye 300F, 300R, Duke 200,250, MT 15 and probably half of Bajaj’s own catalog. Just wow.

At 174 Kg thats not bad. Not bad at all.

Seat height is also approachable by most at 807 mm. The only downside is the 12L fuel tank.
