Re: Bajaj Pulsar NS400 is in the works; launch in 2024

I don't agree on the "big bike" thing at all bro. I love the red too.

Weight is everything in a bike. Not only power to weight. We Indians are not very big guys in the majority. I'm of the school of thought that you not only need to be able to flow with a bike, but you should be able to physically muscle it as well.

I really hope they keep it light and quick. Like a Bajaj KTM.

Cheers, Doc

Agreed. This looks rushed.

With Apache RTR 310, TVS stole Bajaj's thunder and launched a powerful naked bike with lot of gizmos which made the market take notice (whether it sells or not is a different story). Bajaj had to respond as ultimately they have been laying claim to be 'the fastest Indian' for quite a long time.

I suspect this will be tech loaded just like RTR.

Looks like a beefed up Pulsar LS135 to me, considering that bike is now more than 15 years old. Bajaj can definitely do better!

Re: Bajaj Pulsar NS400 is in the works; launch in 2024

What I expected not to be carried forward from the Dominar 400:-

1) Weight
2) Non flickability of the bike.
3) Heavy steering.
4) Seat height
5) Weak engine chain tensioner arrangement
6) Price of Dominar

What I expect to be carried forward from Dominar 400:-
1) Engine and its grunt.

What I wanted extra and what could be compromised: -
1) Reduced seat height as the seat is now quite wide and causes you to spread your legs wide apart thus reducing the reach of the legs.
2) Softer suspension even on top of the UG version.
3) All gizmos and touring accessories etc. if price can be reduced significantly.
4) Preferably single seat with increased length to easily accommodate pillion.

Looks like someone from Bajaj has been following this thread keenly!

Look at this screengrab of their latest post on the official Pulsar Instagram page :

Re: Bajaj Pulsar NS400 is in the works; launch in 2024

I think people are now so used to overdone, outlandish and weird designs that a simple and pleasing design is now 'meh'.
I know looks are subjective, but I have to say that not many bikes in recent years can claim to be truly breathtaking. The RR310 and may be the GT650. The recent KTM dukes I think have lost it with the tank shrouds now stretching too forward and outward that they can't even be called edgy now. The new RTR 310 Apache design is also not cohesive- the design just not flows. There are some nice elements here and there but overall, it doesn't come together nicely. Ditto for the Ronin, maverick and even the Triumph 400s. The Triumphs are not bad but the rear could have been better although the best looking from the bunch.
The previous R3 was nicer looking than the current gen. The latest India made FZs are not a patch on the original design. The first gen FZ still looks amazing.

This new Pulsar 400 is rather a nice simple design with no needless creases and folds thrown around just to look different. A simple design which is rather easy on the eye.
The RS200 design was needlessly over the top and looks rather silly, thank goodness the 400 has been spared that treatment. With the new N250 and now this 400 I think Bajaj are going in the right direction. I agree that in the pics the headlight design doesn't gel well with the rest of the bike but will reserve judgement till I see one in person.
I agree with another poster on the 135 LS likeness, and this is no bad thing as that bike looked nice.

But the I have yet to see a RTR 310 on road... and I am from Blore. What's the point of developing and launching if you don't manage sell at all?? After all its Business not Charity.

With the pricing in the same range of the Triumph 400 and even the HD 440X, its hardly surprising.

A lot would depend on the Pricing of the NS400.

Not a fan of the graphics, or the Stale tank design from 20 years ago.

I'm a fan of the design. It looks like a slightly more butch NS200 and the NS is a very balanced design despite being too old. They could've offered a cast swingarm from the Dominar though. But if the speculation is correct, it'll be priced lower than the D400

I love it.

TVS BMW vibes slightly.

The RTR 310 has way too much cuts and creases. It's like I may not look beautiful but I will stand out. The NS400 on the other hand has a mature design language. I am loving it!! Very excited for the reviews.

Can’t say I dislike it. NS is a classic. It looks pretty basic no gimmicks, if it’s priced at 2.5ish on road it’s a winner.

Re: Bajaj Pulsar NS400 is in the works; launch in 2024

It looks like a face lifted 200 NS at first glance. Maybe even at second glance. Once Bajaj launches the "all new" 200 NS face lift wearing the same clothes, even an expert will have trouble telling the 200 and the 400 apart.

The 200 NS has an engaging personality and encourages lively riding. I wonder how this 400 is going to be.

They would probably undercut the Speed 400 in pricing I feel. If so, it's a winner. Looks wise , it's meh.

I don't know much about the RTR 310. Why are people tending to compare this 400 to a bike 100 cc less? Price? Performance numbers? Heard RTR 310 popping up quite often, so my curiosity is piqued.

Cheers, Doc
