Re: Has Royal Enfield overused their J-Series engine platform a bit too much across products? Every manufacturer reuses engines and platforms, it's the only way to make great engines that don't cost a bomb.
Just as an example, Bajaj 250 cc engine comes in 2 Pulsars, 2 Dukes, 2 Huskys, Dominar. That's a total of 7 configurations. Each of these have very little differences.
RE has always been doing the same. They make 2 engines and use those across multiple bikes. It used to be the 350/500 UCE engines across TB, classic, bullet and electra.
Now it's hunter, bullet, classic and meteor.
There is nothing wrong with it. It gives more flavours to the consumer and a wide range of good choices.
Also, to add to the masala, RE is introducing a new engine shortly! I think the company is doing right by it's fanboys and new customers alike.
The numbers don't lie, the company has been doing great work and will hopefully continue to make great bikes and profits. |
