Hearty Congratulations!! Wish you a long and safe journey with the bike!

Do post some pictures please. It is mandatory on TeamBHP to post pictures of your ride when you announce it on the forum.

Re: 2023 Royal Enfield Bullet 350 launched at Rs 1.74 lakh

Does anyone have brake noise (squeal to be specific) on their bikes?

Both my brakes are noisy since Day 1. I was hoping it will go away after the pads are bedded in. After 500 km, the noise still persists.

The front brake has a slight drag when it is not applied, and audibly squeals at low speeds.

The rear brake squeals when I apply it.

When I checked with the dealer, the response was ‘Do a few hard brakings and the noise will go away’. I don’t ride my bike hard, and want to go about this in a bit more scientific way.

I did read online that many J series riders had their calipers replaced under warranty due to the caliper pins being insufficiently greased from the factory.

Before I start taking things apart, would like to hear from the Reborn / Bullet / Meteor riders about your experience. Thanks in advance!

Disk brake noise are common specially when cold or new. The noise comes down after the rubbing smoothens out the surface on the disk and the pads.
The other reason for the squeak is when the brake pads have worn out and the metal starts touching the disk.

Re: 2023 Royal Enfield Bullet 350 launched at Rs 1.74 lakh

Any recommendations for durable alloy wheels for single disc variant? The stock RE alloys are made only for the dual disc variant. Although, I didn't have any issues with the tube type tyres, but I am getting paranoid to take it on longer rides.

Thanks in advance.

Backdating the headlamp

Wanted to change the new clear lens type slim headlamp to the older one. Bought a complete assembly which came as OE fitment for the Bullet 500 UCE 2021 model. But I am assuming it was common for all the UCE Bulleti and Classic models.

Happy to report that it was a bolt on swap. The connector (H4) as well as the fixing screw position and threads were also exactly the same. This was a big relief as I was prepared to do some drilling and cutting if needed.

Just sharing in case anyone else is interested in doing ‘regressive mods’ to their J series bikes like me.

PS: The small position lamp inside the UCE headlamp will not work.

Love it. Clear Lens and LEDs - I feel these are just criminal on retro motorcycles. The new or should I say Old headlight reminds me of my 2011 Electra.

Definitely a much-needed swap as Clear Lens just doesn't cut it aesthetically. The Bullet looks beautiful now

Sorry for not noticing earlier if mentioned in any threads. But did you import the bike from India or bought it there in Japan?

Those two side marker lamps work right? More than enough.

Yes, you’re right. The side marker lamps do work. And anyway, the headlamp is always ON. The pilot lamp is not really needed.

I bought the bike from the authorized RE dealer in West Tokyo. RE has been here officially for over 3 years now. Even before that, there were unofficial imports by small dealers for a pretty long time.

There is a small, but dedicated fan following here for REs.

Of course, the prices are 2x of what one would pay in India. Also, the launches generally happen at least six months after the India launch.

I could have got a much more powerful and fast Japanese bike for the same money. But it’s fun thumping around the backroads and twisties on something like this when you have Fireblades and Panigales screaming past you.

This is from a BBQ ride organized by my dealer soon after I got my Bullet.

The customer service is nothing great. Fortunately, it is such a simple machine that I should be able to maintain it by myself. So I am hoping the ownership goes smoothly unless something catastrophic goes wrong!

From the latest pictures, I see you changed your rectangle type stadium mirrors to round type? Seeing your motorcycle, I have installed the rectangle type Stadium mirrors on my motorcycle. They look unique compared to the round ones.

Hi yes, I just changed them as I had both of them with me. Without a doubt, the rectangular ones look more unique and offer a superior view compared to the round ones. I can’t stop fiddling with the bike. It’s an incurable illness.

Re: 2023 Royal Enfield Bullet 350 launched at Rs 1.74 lakh

Hi. I am now ready to install saddle stays on my Bullet 350 J series. I suppose all the accessories for the Classic 350 will fit this bike too.

It seems that there are not too many options when it comes to saddle stays. Surprisingly, RE makes a stay meant for only cloth bags. I am looking to put the heavier touring bags on both sides (probably Viaterra) so I need to go for something more robust.

I came across the following options.

https://bandidospitstop.com/collecti...-for-cl-reborn
(Though it says this is for the Meteor 350)

https://bandidospitstop.com/collecti...classic-reborn

https://www.zanamotorcycles.com/prod...sic-350-reborn

Do you have experience using any of these?
I'd love to hear your thoughts about a touring setup of saddle stays and bags.
Do let me know if there are other options I've missed.

Thanks!

Do compare (and if possible measure) the mounting points in the Classic 350 and the Bullet by lining them up side by side.

I too explored all available options before finalising the one from Old School Customs for my Classic 350.

I wasn't aware of this brand-thanks for sharing. I see that they have a tailored saddle stay for the J series Bullet 350 too. So, I won't need to worry about measuring anything now.

How has your experience been using these saddle stays? Do they hold up well if the bike falls?

I notice that they indicate that there is protection from scrapping against the silencer. But I don't really see a metal "floorboard" like in saddle stays from some other brands.

I feel like the "floorboards" will not only protect against any contact with the silencer, but they also provide support to saddle bags, and lessen the stress on it's mounting belts. How has this turned out in your experience?

Thanks.

The saddle stays are made of thick gauge mild steel tubes. The powder coating is durable and has aged well. The stainless steel Allen bolts too are very sturdy.

I am yet to fall from my Classic 350 Reborn.

The saddle stays have detachable 'C' shaped sections for bottom support.

Have the tubeless spokes which were introduced in the Goan classic, been made available in Bullet and Classic 350's
