This is a replica of 2008 model Honda shine. The chasis, alloy wheels, silencer, seat, tail lamp design, indicator lights all reeks of the erstwhile Shine. Seems like this is made off with all the leftovers over the decade. The only new thing is the stickers.

The last time I saw a Livo on road was around 2017 or 2018 when it came into showrooms. After that spotting a livo is quite rare these days. Honda should refresh their portfolio and make the offerings easy. The commuter segment is filled with more options that one gets confused about it's presence and market reception.

Re: 2023 Honda Livo launched at Rs 78,500

The difference between Bajaj and Honda now appears to be the naming of bikes of commuter segment to the higher engine capacities till the 200cc or 200cc plus segments. Both want their market shares in the 100 -200 cc plus segments. But Bajaj uses Pulsar model name now for its range just above the commuter segment. It used the Discover name just above the commuter segment and Pulsar thereafter. And Honda uses model names Shine 100, CD 110 Deluxe, Livo, Shine 125, SP125, SP160, Unicorn, Hornet 2.0 and CB200X. Here in this list Shine is their base model that shines with its 98.98 cc engine. The #2 and 3 have similar 109.51 cc engines, #3 and 4 with similar 123.64 cc engines, # 5 and 6 with 162 71cc engines and lastly the #7 and 8 with 184.40 cc engines.

Two Honda bikes the Shine 125 and Unicorn sell well, while their commuter 98/110 cc and the 184 cc bikes are overwhelmed by the competition.
