Does the carbon racing windscreen help on highway runs? I have seen some videos where they say not using windscreen is better, since when using windscreen all the wind blast is deflected towards head. Not sure how true that statement is, but I'm planning to go for this based on your review and experience. Also this is the only functional windscreen I saw in the market for Speed 400 and so happy to see a user review of this.

I don't think the wind that gets deflected towards the head is any stronger than what you'd get without the windscreen, but it does protect the torso and possibly makes the bike slightly more aerodynamic. This would be true for all windscreens of this size.

On the other hand, some people also install windscreen extenders, like on the Suzuki SX 250, to deflect wind further away. Unfortunately something like that is not yet available for the Speed 400.

@davelok: You seem to have installed a mud-splash kit. Where did you get those? Is that OEM or after market?
Thanks.

Can you please share pics from the rear as well and how effective it is. I'm looking for tyre huggers and will go for this since the OEM ones always look cleaner.

Please share how much it costed as well.

Thanks,
Adarsh

Is it even available? I don't see them in the Triumph accessories anymore.

Re: Triumph Speed 400 Review

Has anyone installed Tyre hugger in Speed 400? Someone in this thread had tried to install couple of months back but it didn't fit.

I saw one Speed 400 on road. it looked great, but couldn't catch the rider to ask.

Any recommendations anyone has on tyre hugger which has good fit on the bike?

The bike is switching off automatically sometimes when it’s in 2nd or 3rd gear while the clutch is engaged. Anyone else faced this issue ?

Yes, and it's persisting despite the service center claiming the latest ECU update has fixed it. I am going to send the bike again to fix it.

The issue here is that the service mechanics aren't able to reproduce the problem and hence only half-believe the customers. However as a number of us have given the feedback to Triumph India, they're at least aware of it and are trying to address it (order of priority might be different).

It seems that the latest ECU tries to get around the problem by increasing the rpm whenever it senses that the engine is about to die. This behaviour is like the start up auto race, but now it happens even with a hot engine.

However, sometimes when the engine starts to sputter with uneven firing (when the throttle is in the idle position and clutch is pulled in) the ECU might not be sensing it quickly enough, leading to stalling.

This is my reading of the problem so far. It's either a problem with the fuel pump or with valve timing.

Triumph should get serious about fixing it before it becomes a big embarrassment for them.

I started bike last Saturday, it didnt allow me to go over 3k RPM, was very worried to see this happening esp I recently got ECU software updated. I switched off the engine and started again and thankfully the issue hasn’t returned yet.

When was this? They recently increased the pricing to ~2600 along with a change in the OEM. If you go to the workshop now, you'll be asked to pay the increased amount for it.

Yes. But infrequently for me. I have had this issue since Dominar 400 btw.
