Myself has booked a Speed in Electronic City Showroom last week, for primarily my office commute in Bangalore. With CB350, you will have to do a lot more gear shifts. I did test rides of Maverick and CB300R. I could not stand the vibrations of Maverick, the mirror was blurry even at low speeds of 50-60 Km/h. Otherwise, I would have chosen this over speed, considering the wider service n/w and better fuel economy. CB300R was not for someone like me, with its too commited seating and very hard seat and uncomfortable suspension for Bangalore roads.

With Speed 400, I found something similar to CB350 H'ness in terms of ride comfort with a lot more torque in the low end (in fact, across the range).

BTW, I am a short guy at 5'2" and it was initially difficult to handle H'ness. Though Speed 400 specification quotes a seat height of 790 mm, I find it very similar to H'ness which has the height at 800 mm.
During the third week of June, I acquired Honda Hiness CB 350 and totally in love with it. The suspension set up and the engine, both are a bliss. Though the gearshift is frequent, but not that sore point which will irritate me. The biggest disappointment for Speed was it’s unnecessary heat on the shoe and foot pegs which is almost negligee in Hiness!

Hi Utkarsh, Is he an expert in fork and wheel alignment as well ? I have a Speed 400 as well and have been struggling with pull issues since months and SC hasnt been able to address it to my satisfaction even after 6 visits in 6 months. I feel heaviness on one side and as well handle discomfort.

You can visit him once and explain him in a detailed way the feedback you are receiving regarding your issue. He is very good in terms of his Automobile Engineering and also prior experience with all types of bikes can lead him to the solution quickly. Any major work can be carried out by him seeing his past experience. Do call him once before visiting, as he participates in off- road racing occasionally.

Hi my scrambler 400x fuel gauge is very inaccurate. It goes down to two dots and when I fill it up till auto cut it only takes around 6L of fuel. And after 130-140km it again comes down to two or three dots. Is this issue common? Makes it really difficult to go on long tours without the reliability

Hi, I just saw this. When you say the Duke has less forward lean, are you really sure? (I am speaking of Gen 2 Duke) I actually thought the forward lean is similar more on the Duke. Have to test this out.

Also, when you say the Duke is basically 0 lean, are you sure? Because I have a tailbone injury and the Duke, if I scooch back when seating, my tailbone is raised because of the lean but on commuter bikes and xpulse, the riding angle is so straight my tailbone easily touches the seat and I can't work my way around it unfortunately.

Can anyone share the contact number of Khivraj Triumph Electronic City, Bangalore please? I want to cancel my booking which was initially done at Keerthi Triumph which got transferred to Khivraj ECity. I tried calling up numbers found online but none of those numbers work and no one responds to the emails too. I did not find any working direct calling number or email either of Triumph nor of Khivraj Bajaj's from their websites. Not sure how a brand like Triumph is stuck with these Bajaj folks, bunch of nincompoops.

Can you saddle on the Speed 400? I tried on a short test ride and going over a speed breaker the bike bounced back and hit me on the nuts. Not sure if I was too fast but I do the same on my Duke 200 and it doesn't hit me back. :/

Checked the air pressure on the TD bike? Could be a reason. I haven't ridden the 400 but the consensus is that the suspension is plush. But rider weight is a variable.

Easily. The suspension is top notch. I have saddled the bike on bad roads and on some trails as well. The only thing that wont help are the stickier, smoother tires, when you go on mud or gravel. The suspension is still just awesome. Never had a bottom-out.

You might want to check if you are saddling high enough also.

Yes, brother. Most likely I messed up the saddling considering it was someone else's bike and I am used to a stiffer suspension on Duke. Perhaps the tyre pressure was high or I was faster than needed! Have you saddled through speed breakers?

Saddling is easy, especially if you install handlebar risers. It's just that the tank isn't easy to grip between one's legs, for me at least. You might have been going too fast over the bump, or didn't lift your rear high enough off the seat.

Won't be installing the risers for a different reason but I guess I did it at the wrong pace. Thanks for your input. :-)

Saddling is effective for tackling obstacles one at a time. Rumble strips are not good for saddling.

I just got the repair done specifically the shim adjustments and they did not charge me anything said it is covered in warranty. I had a broken brake lever so I was only charged for it
