October 15th they said, and keeping word, i get a call from my Bangalore Hero dealership informing me of a delivery ceremony at 10am involving a local MLA, a decked up showroom and over 20 spanking new x440's being 'delivered'.

Inspite of being a Sunday, keeping to committed date is commendable, and hopefully a sign of how this new HeHa collaboration plans to sell and support the bikes! However, because of being a Sunday, the delivery is planned as only a photo-op show, with the actual RTO work done handovers happening over first days of the following week.

Unfortunately, my selected variant hasn't been dispatched, and being the 3rd booking in over 300 that this showroom has received, was allowed to pick from any of stock recieved with the encouragement - "you will be first customer with delivery tomorrow only Saar!!!" They had about 6 red and about 20 top end matt blacks...I wasn't interested in those...so gave it a pass. Their plan is to contact bookings in date-wise order and pass on to next in line if someone doesn't take up their slot.

Having gone all the way, I took another test ride- am still on the fence wondering if I'm going to be able to become bum-chums with that odd feeling seat, pun intended! The rest of it, ticks a lot more boxes than most competition. Meanwhile, good luck and happy riding, all those becoming HOG members from tomorrow.
Oh, that reminds me of something a bit odd - the price breakup, which totalled to about -
Denim variant - 3.2+
Vivid - 3.44+
Top end S - 3 65+
All Bangalore on road prices, included a compulsory HOG membership worth 5k, they insist you take. Hmm...also has an RSA they earnestly recommend, but not compulsory.

You'll need to send an email for requesting cancellation to HD - Ride India <rideindia@harley-davidson.com> from your Email ID that you used at the time of booking. Perhaps better you may forward the booking email you had received, since that contains all details such as order number. You should typically receive a reply within a few hours acknowledging your cancellation.

However, I believe the refund will take a long time since they're currently busy and occupied with the deliveries, so they don't seem to be processing refunds - I'm not aware of anyone who has got their refund yet. I guess you can understand how fast they are with anything given they promised to deliver the vehicle within 90 days of booking, but it's been more than 100 days since the launch and first bookings!

Did anyone getting delivery today? My dealer has sent a message yesterday evening that the launch event was postponed due to RTA portal issues and new date will be announced soon.

Dealer quoted that we need to pay facilitation charges of Rs.9999/- and road tax also need to be paid on 2,79,500 exshowroom even though we will pay 2,69,000. Please see below quote from Harley dealer.

Exshowroom: 2,69,000
Road Tax 12% on 2,79,500: 33540
TR &PR charges: 2500
Insurance: 25,064
Facilitation charges: 9,999
Onroad: 3,40,103

RTO calculates the road tax based on the non-discounted price of the vehicle. Unfortunately dealer cannot do much about it.

Facilitation charges??? That’s weird. What is that for, what all is part of it? If it’s for cake cutting, photo-op etc?

Orange Auto PVT limited, Vijayawada, also called sunshine.

They said facilitation charges are for soing PDI and other handling charges.

I believe for Speed 400, first 10000 customer got discounted price and for others its full price but for X400 the introductory price is 2,69,000 for top model S and later it was increased by 10,500. Ideally the exshowroom price should be 2,69,000 for all the customer and road also should on the same right? Deliveries for customers with new prices will not start anytime soon until existing bookings are cleared. So they can update the increased exshowroom price later. Just my thoughts and I may be wrong

What are the standard accessories given with the bike and what additional accessories you have opted for?

Standard accessories: saree guard & heat protectors (for bike exhaust)
Additional accessories: List and price will only be available in a week around the time of first servicing.

By the way the fencing feature works however, engine immobilizer is disable for now as some issues were identified in the app. Should be fixed in a week to 10 days.

Standard accessories as part of PDI includes Mirrors, Saree guard & heat protector plates-2.

Here is the accessories list to purchase but none of them were available as of now.

It is still 18% and on top of that there are multiple cess and other charges hence, the highest road tax and registration charges in the country! By the way we have lovely roads (or Not ) for paying the highest taxes!
