I believe this should be the norm. Shows the confidence level of the manufacturer in the product.

The embargo has nothing to do with manufacturer confidence.

It is done when media drive is conducted in batches over a series of days, so that people reviewing on Day 3 will have same chance of getting content views as the people on Day 1.

Bike reviews are conducted mostly in a day - in the case of Harley Davidson- I hear it was just an hour.

So no embargo required. Its a race to the finish line for Youtubers and magazines looking to dish out content first.

Re: Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X unveiled

I think it is safe to assume that Hero-Harley successfully scared Bajaj-Triumph with their competitive pricing. Not only did they not release the prices, they didn't even start the bikes to showcase the exhaust note.

Re: Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X unveiled

2.33L for Speed 400 is really unexpected, in a pleasant surprise. Pricing for Scrambler will be revealed later but this will get everyone excited

It gets much better. Introductory pricing of 2.23L for first 10K customers

Re: Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X unveiled

2.33 lakhs for the Speed 400! Unbelievable price. Booked one, hopefully at the introductory price of 2.23L for the first 10,000 customers. What a magical 2 days of launches from both Harley and Triumph for India customers!

2.33L ex-showroom for Speed 400 is sweet surprise. It's 2.23L for first 10,000 customers.
Will have to wait till October for Scrambler 400x pricing.

Rs. 2.23 lakhs for the first 10,000 customers ! That's a brilliant deal IMO!

It was a painfully long wait to hear it, save for Rajiv Bajaj's witty responses to the media questions, but oh man, Triumph really pulled a rabbit out of the hat!

Re: Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X unveiled

The Triumph Speed 400 is priced at Rs 2.33 lakh (ex-showroom)

Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X unveiled-20230705_150637.jpg

- The first 10,000 Speed 400s will be sold at a special price of Rs 2.23 lakhs!

- The Speed 400 will reach Triumph dealerships by the end of this month. The Scrambler 400 X will only arrive in October.

- Fuel efficiency of the new Triumph 400s? Around 30kpl, says Nick Bloor, CEO of Triumph.

- Tyres on the Scrambler 400 X are MRF Zapper Kurve, as opposed to Metzeler Karoo rubber on the overseas bike.

- The vast majority of these bikes will be built in India. However, CKD plants in Brazil and Thailand will be assembling bikes for distribution in local markets.

- The two new Triumph bikes will be built at Bajaj's new plant in Chakan (what the company is calling Chakan-2). Planned annual capacity for the plant is 25,000 units across both KTM and Triumph. For Triumph alone, the planned volume is 5,000 units.

- Over 25 accessories for each bike, including luggage, crash protection and cosmetic add-ons.

Wow! What a pricing. Unbelievable. Immediately booked the Speed 400 in red color. Loved it. This makes the Harley 400x dead on arrival.

Wow!
At this price it is a no-brainer

Further good news is that Speed 400 will be available from this month end itself at the Triumph showrooms.

Re: Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X unveiled

Main highlights from the event:

The Speed 400 is priced at 2,33,000/ ex-showroom Delhi. A discount of 10k is being offered for the first 10k buyers in India.

The price for Scrambler 400 is to be announced later. The Scrambler is expected to be available in the showrooms in October. The Speed 400 is expected to be available in showrooms from 15th July.

Deliveries will happen only through the Triumph showrooms.

Good price I think, after anchoring the expectations around the 3-4 lakhs mark. As Rajiv Bajaj said this price has got nothing to do with the Hero-Harley event yesterday. Looks like they want to go aggressively after the Indian market.

Waiting for the TBHP review. If it is good then I might just go ahead with my purchase
