Speed 400 scrambler version has better wider seats compared to 650 twins. During long distance riding/rough roads every additional kg of the bike will add to the fatigue. So, I feel Speed 400 is better.
For some one who owned a Single cylinder bike with almost similar powers (RR310) and now owns RE650, I can tell you easily I will anyday pick the RE650 over a single cylinder engine once again. It is easy to do comparison on papers, but when you ride a single cylinder and a twin cylinder for long distances, you will appericate the twin cylinders so much more. No vibes, less stress on engine makes it a pleasant ride overall.

That said maybe triumph has done great job with the engine, will reserve my judgement on that. That said a short 10 km ride might not make you feel the difference and in city Triumph should definitely feel better, it's when you tour long on highway you can actually figure out the differences.

According to Dino's Vault youtube channel, the T400 is very smooth indeed. He does put a bit of masala in his opinion I feel though. I'm a bit skeptical of a single cylinder outdoing a lesser stressed, twin cylinder on refinement (unless it's some honda). But waiting for test ride to confirm.

Dino said "zero vibrations" and regarding top speed he said he managed to touch "170 kmph on the track". I will take these comments with a pinch of salt. He's a v good reviewer. But there can never be zero vibrations on a single (but then tolerance to vibration differs from person to person).
Plus I saw some videos where the rev limiter kicks in at 9k RPM itself. And the 6th gear speed at 9k RPM was 160 kmph when the limiter kicks in. So I wonder how some guys are managing to cross 160. But I think these pre-14th July videos are of not much use.

As per the Khivraj Triumph website there are 2 showrooms in Bengaluru - Whitefield and Electronic city.

https://khivrajtriumph.com/contact-us/

PS: Got the website results from a google search. Please tread with caution. There was 1 contact number for all showrooms across Chennai and Bengaluru.

Some useful pre-embargo content, the low end torque looks promising indeed!

Re: Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X unveiled

Just received this message on WhatsApp from Triumph India Motorcycles.

They are confirming whether you have made it to the first 10000 bookings and eligibility for the inaugural price offer...

Re: Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X unveiled

Also received a whatsapp message from triumph confirming eligibility for 10k discount just now. I'm assuming others have as well. Now the wait for on-road pricing, service and test ride.

Re: Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X unveiled

Received a WhatsApp message from Triumph stating my booking is under 10000 and I am eligible for inaugural discount of Rs. 10000. I assume that the last 4 digits of booking ID was the serial number as suggested byTeam-BHP members

Re: Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X unveiled

Saw this update from Triumph India on Instagram: "We have yet to release the on-road prices for Speed 400. State specific ex-showroom and on-road pricing will be released closer to delivery."
So even after 10july there is no concrete stand about the OTR prices from Triumph/Bajaj!

Also saw this another post of theirs again on Instagram: "The inaugral price of INR 2,23,000 is applicable for the deliveries of Speed 400 to those customers who were among the first 10,000 to make the online booking."
how do we interpret this? Does this mean that the discounted price is for "upto" 10k units?

Re: Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X unveiled

Just received the message too! My serial number was just over 10k; so not sure if the serial number logic works. I’m not a bike guy, but this product seems promising.

Will be our first geared bike if we go ahead with it. Will be glued onto the thread to get valuable inputs from season riders! Not sure if it’s a logical step to owning this as our first geared bike or any bike for that matter (we haven’t owned a bike in family for three decades; except a 2 month Ola bike ownership which I guess doesn’t count) Mumbai traffic is crazy and maybe the bike can cut some commute time is the logic here

Cheers!

Re: Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X unveiled

I have received the same message as well. So glad to be a Beta User of this bike.

We should develop a list of T-bhp members who received this message along with their location of booking.

Congratulations!! I guess you got moved from waiting list to confirmation due to cancellations

I remember how we used to wait infront of the train to get the waiting list to check if we got bumped upto RAC or confirmation!

Guess they're sending out messages to everyone now, I had prebooked mine an hour or so after the reveal.
