KTM working on an all-new electric scooter; Spied testing for the first time KTM is working on an all-electric scooter, the test mule of which, has been spotted for the first time.
The all-electric scooter can be seen with a maxi-scooter-styled front end with vertically-positioned headlamps at its centre and a clear windshield on top. Reports suggest that the new electric scooter will come with a swingarm-mounted electric motor with cooling fins and the batteries mounted in the floorboard, as seen from the central spine. The scooter also features 14-inch wheels at either end.
Reports also suggest that all the metal parts, including the swingarm, motor housing and pillion footpegs, are milled from solid aluminium, while the plastic body panels have been 3D printed. The spy images also showcase what looks like a large digital display for the instrument cluster.
The new electric scooter could be branded as either a KTM product or a Husqvarna model. However, it still seems to be in its initial stages of development, with no plans of entering production anytime soon.
