While Hero has kept the 2023 Xtreme 160R under wraps, the bike maker has shared some interesting details about the upcoming bike. As per the latest teaser, the bike will be powered by an all-new 4-valve engine.

The Xtreme 160R could carry forward the same 163cc block, but the redesigned valvetrain is likely to result in better performance. The overall output could receive a slight bump from the current 15 BHP and 14 Nm.

In terms of design, the new Xtreme 160R could receive minor cosmetic updates, along with new colour options. The teaser also indicates that the bike will be equipped with an upside-down fork at the front.

Hero MotoCorp has launched the 2023 Xtreme 160R 4V at a starting price of Rs 1,27,300 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Hero has made some significant changes to the Xtreme 160R for the 2023 model year. The bike is powered by a 163cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine which now features 4-valves. As a result, the engine now puts out 16.6 BHP @ 8,500 rpm and 14.5 Nm, which is a slight bump over the old 2-valve engine.

The Xtreme 160R also gets an updated suspension. The bike rides on a 37 mm KYB upside-down fork up front and a 7-step adjustable Showa mono-shock at the rear.

The 2023 Xtreme 160R looks more aggressive than before, especially in the new dual-tone colour scheme. It gets new tank extensions, a new LED headlight and updated switchgear. The bike is available with either a single seat or a split seat and is equipped with a digital instrument console offering Bluetooth connectivity.

The Xtreme 160R 4V is available in three variants: Standard, Connected and Pro. The base variant comes with a conventional telescopic fork and a single seat.

Hero Xtreme 160R 4V ex-showroom prices:

Standard – Rs 1,27,300
Connected – Rs 1,32,800
Pro – Rs 1,36,500

The Hero Xtreme 160R 2V model will be sold alongside the new 4V model. It is priced at Rs 1,18,886 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

One of the most underrated bikes in the 150cc segment. Glad that they have finally given 4 valve engine to this. I got a chance to test ride this few months back.

The Xtreme 160's engine character will remind you of the first iteration of Yamaha FZ-16, it was a 153 cc engine then with ~14 Nm of torque and a higher power compared to the toned down 149cc Bluecore engine they have now. The FZ today lacks the initial punch that it had 12 years ago, and the Xtreme 160 has it, making it a fun bike to ride!

I am feeling so happy to see a handsome looking product after a long long time. That's what Hero needs.

Re: 2023 Hero Xtreme 160R teased; to get 4-valve engine. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 1.27 lakh

Good to see a good-looking bike from Hero. This looks better than the 2v version with the changed front. USDs are also a welcome addition. But with the pricing, they should have added dual-channel ABS at least in the Pro version.

I have made a simple comparison of the naked 160cc 4V segment bikes with the Xtreme, within the same price range. The Xtreme seems a decent option among the competition with the new updated 4v Pro model.
I included the 2V hornet 2.0 because it is priced similar, and has similar power due to being 180cc.

I did not include the MT-15 because it is much more expensive, and liquid cooled with VVA. But I think will be the fastest among these.
