2023 Hero Passion Plus launched at Rs 76,301

Hero MotoCorp has announced the launch of the 2023 Passion Plus. The bike has been relaunched after being discontinued three years ago. The latest iteration of the Passion Plus is priced at Rs 76,301 (ex-showroom).

The 2023 Passion Plus looks similar to its predecessor. It has a halogen headlamp with a fairing around it, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank and a single-piece seat. The bike rides on alloy wheels and comes with a side-mounted exhaust. It gets features such as a semi-digital instrument console, a USB charging port and an electric start.

The Passion Plus carries forward a 97.2cc, single-cylinder 'Sloper' engine. It produces 8 BHP and 8.05 Nm and is paired with a 4-speed gearbox. The bike is now OBD-2 compliant and comes with Hero's i3S start/stop technology.

The Passion Plus rides on conventional telescopic fork suspension and twin rear shock absorbers. Braking is handled by 130 mm drum brakes at both ends.

The Passion Plus rivals the Honda Shine and Bajaj Platina in the Indian market.

Seems like they have rebadged the last gen Passion Pro (current engine is a 110cc mill) into Plus and used the same engine as the Splendor and HF Deluxe. I wonder if they did it cause people actually were looking for the Passion with this engine or because they wanted to fill the price gap. If the later is the reason, re-pricing the 110cc Pro would have made more sense.
