MTC helps while going hard on the gas. Whereas while braking its the ABS that has your back. MTC doesn't do anything while braking.

Thanks for the updates, keenly following this thread

Was this option mentioned by anyone from KTM during media drive ?

Not sure why they cannot give another version with adjustable suspension and alloy wheels.

Other option is getting normal version and adding adjustable suspension. But what do we do with normal suspension then. Selling spoke wheels aftermarket maybe easier than selling old stock suspension

Here's the recommended setting, set considering rider weight range of 75 - 90 kg.

Thanks for the information on the suspension setting.

Attaching the KTM Manual for the US model which has similar information.

Are the adjustable suspensions available over the counter as spare part yet?

Re: KTM launches 390 Adventure kitted with adjustable suspension

What do you guys think about the rationale of going for KTM Adventure X and updrading to the adjustable suspension, as explained in the video? Has KTM given a suspension more tuned to better ride quality in Adventure X by accident with cost cutting?

Are the electronic aids in KTM 390 adventure sub par as explained in the video (MTC of inferior technology that keeps stalling the bike, quick shifter that never works)? I thought the 390 standard model is value for money with the electronic aids.

Re: KTM launches 390 Adventure kitted with adjustable suspension

There have been stalling issues reported on the 390 series that gets rectified with switching off the quickshifter. Maybe that's what they referred to

That's a good idea, but how would that impact the warranty of the new vehicle?
Does suspension swap affect the warranty?
Can someone please elucidate?
Thanks

If you further watch this video, in the end the host talks about the updated KTM 390 Adventure likely to come in 2025 which will be an ADV built ground-up. The current gen 390 ADV is based on the 390 Duke's frame. They go on to discuss the ground clearance - seat height - suspension travels and comparison with the 790 and 890 ADVs.

On the same lines, sharing a comparison sheet which covers almost all ADVs available in the Indian Market (dont ask why Yezdi has been left out )

The last two columns are there to make you feel jealous.

Hope this Comparison Sheet helps you make your choice

Re: KTM launches 390 Adventure kitted with adjustable suspension

So anyone got the adjustable suspension for their older rides? I am thinking of getting the suspension on my 2013 duke 390 upgraded as riding on Mumbai roads with a plank of wood between your legs is not really comfortable. Giving the locally made Zedling suspension some serious thought as nothing beats bespoke suspension, however there's no compression/rebound adjustability. But also want to see if the new KTM/WP adjustable ones are available and an option- I know it'd raise seat height and at 5.8" I am not tall, but hoping I'd still be able to tiptoe?

Ok so just spoke with the parts guy at my local KTM svc. Per him rear is 8k and front is roughly 14-15k. However, he also said that there may be some confusion with part numbers as he had ordered the adjustable rear for a guy but got a non-adjustable part from Bajaj. So, I'd take the prices also with a pinch of salt, perhaps the parts catalog hasn't been updated properly yet.

Thanks for this doga, I am actively looking to replace the rear suspension on my 390 ADV with adjustable one from SW variant. 8K is a reasonable price, i hope it make the ride calmer than what it currently is.

Do share more information whenever you come across. I will also reach out to my KTM service center for the pricing.

Cheers

Sure Hiren. Did you consider Zedling suspension? Anyone here have used their suspension? How is the workmanship and longevity etc?

Yes, I have and have filled in the form on their site. Waiting to hear back, but at 17K they are bit too rich for me. Another option which has got good reviews on YT is the Hero Xpulse 200 4V rear suspension swap on the 390 Adv.
That is made by the same manufacturer - Endurance and is a direct fit without any mods or alterations. It is known to make the ride a lot softer, the only concern being that Xpulse is a good 18 kilos lighter than the 390 Adv. But at around 6K, this is too enticing to ignore.

Regards

Please don't go in that direction Hiren, it's opposite of bike character. You will feel out of place on hard acceleration and in corners. Read out comments on that YouTube video.

Although price may appear enticing, please go for adjustable suspension of 390 ADV.

The problem with the any stock suspension(adjustable or not) is the spring rate won't be tailormade for you. My guess is most motorcycles gun for the average weight of the populace which shouldn't be more that 65 kg for India.
Probably best would be to get the adjustable from the new adv then swap out the springs to suit your own weight. But then you are looking at additional costs also.

I'd be honest, I am leaning towards Zedling as nothing beats bespoke. But adjustable ones do have the allure of the bling factor. I did have adjustable suspension on my bikes before and can remember handful of times I fiddled with rebound and compression because once dialed in you'd very rarely need to adjust them, perhaps for trackdays only.
